I just purchased a bottle of the new Ultima Tire and Trim Guard and I must say I'm disappointed. It goes on exterior vinyl reasonably well but the surface remains tacky even after a couple of days and I don't like that. I get much better results with Solution Plus to restore color. I use...
Some here have recommended UTTG (Ultima Tire and Trim Guard) but remember to check the date of the post. Ultima recently changed UTTG to a water-based formula that has different characteristics. I'm experimenting with it now.
As for reclaiming faded vinyl, I agree with Rsurfer. Solution...
Since the main problem with regard to paint etching is the acid, I suspect it would be far better to treat the area with a strong solution of baking soda to neutralize the acid. I'm not sure that detailing spray can neutralize acid, only dilute it.
It's too bad that there still isn't a car...
Cool your jets. I checked and Autogeek has this product on backorder so I provided a little information that might be helpful to some people out there who might need some of this cleaner now.
I have also been "rude" enough to have bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from AG and will...
DavidHayward, Mantilgh: You are both right of course. The Griot's is really nice for wax but it's not aggressive enough for real correction. The more I thought about the Rupes, the more I wanted it so I got it.
With respect, that sure doesn't match my experience with 476S. I have applied this wax several different ways and comparing my experience with Natty's Blue, I didn't find 476S any more difficult to buff off than Natty's. Properly applied I found that both buff off quite easily.
From a...
Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment . . .
What point is there to a product like Natty's Blue when other waxes like Collinite deliver the same ease of use and shine with much greater durability?
I've used Natty's and it's an OK wax but the best results I've gotten has been with a 3 coat base of Collinite 476S followed by a coat of Collinite No. 915 Marque D'Elegance. That beat Natty's handily for depth of shine and clarity IMSHO and with a much longer service life to boot.
Put 476S or...
My experience with this wax is that it has turned to soup. It has lost the creamy consistency that made it so nice to work with. This stuff definitely has a short shelf life. Now, to be fair, it did stay out in the garage during the summer and that may have something to do with the product's...
I think you may have misinterpreted what I wrote. I said that the Optimum product caused a lot of fogging, not the Ultima product. I bought the Ultima product to get rid of the fogging.
