I haven't seen the Daytona scratch a wheel yet. I have the track pack wheels on my 340i that are a very dark grey (almost black) inside and it does a fantastic job without scratching.
How does this compare to ONRWW or UWW+? The price on D115 is definitely a bit steep compared to the other two. Looks to be about $1 per wash vs 60 cents for ONRWW; not a huge deal for an enthusiast but may not make sense for someone trying to make a living.
I definitely wouldn't drive the car any amount of miles without washing it when you're trying to apply something like OptiCoat. I found when I was an apartment dweller than rinseless washes (ONR) were a great way to wash without dragging everything out to the car wash. It quickly became my...
The paint has most likely long since cured since most paints are chemically cured these days. The longer you wait the harder it will be to cut with a polish (ie when the paint is fresh it will actually be softer and you can use less aggressive products). Most likely your body shop has already...
After trying a DA polisher for this I'll never go back. Applies it thinner, covers better, and much easier on my arm. With a 6" pad it goes a lot faster too.
There was a thread on this a while back where they have 1 packing station left that uses peanuts. I know when I get peanuts I've gotten the short end of the stick!
Nice little teaser there Mike. Hope you have a lot more pictures of the entire process you can show us:xyxthumbs: While these cars don't compare to the vehicles available to us today they are truly timeless classics:dblthumb2:
I had a similar issue on my Carbon Black 535i. I was finally able to get it out with Über Compound on an orange pad with my GG 6". I feel for you, these aren't fun.
Agreed, these are great products with a solution for vehicles with extremely low clearance in the front. My dad and I built some custom ones with wood that were downright dangerous when he bought his Z06 about 7 years ago. These don't budge and like you mentioned are super light. Getting the...
Thanks for the great review. I also am looking for a great matte finish dressing that provides protection as I've been using 1Z cockpit premium. My only concern is do you feel it is safe to still use the 1Z for maintenance cleaning? You mentioned it easily removed spots from your aluminum so...
I have the DP shopvac that AG sells that was a gift to me for Christmas. I haven't used the wet suction side of it but I'm extremely impressed with the dry side. Amazing suction and it is VERY quiet. I'd recommend if you have the $$. It's easily capable of picking up a car mat with the suction...
I'm not sure how that is done but I've never seen a clear film successfully lifted, re-seated, and actually have it look right. If it did I think it'd be really possible the OC could be cracked. Are you sure they didn't replace the piece of PPF?
