How far do you (or your customers) travel?

If I have to travel, I try to schedule multiple details in the same location. I have a group of clients /friends 2.5hrs away that I'll plan a couple of days for once a month.

    Headlight Restoration

Unless you can feel deep pitting I would avoid going below 800 grit. 320 and 400 grit are last resort options reserved for severely crazed lenses. My go-to process (after cleaning ) is 800/1500/2500 or 1k/2k/3k . If I have to go deeper it's 400 DRY/600/800/1200/2k/3k Too big of a leap in the...

    Antique black single-stage (1936 Packard )

I have been using a 14 lb GEM random orbital with cotton Terry bonnets in high volume dealer reconditioning applications for years. I figured it to be too aggressive for this application?

    Antique black single-stage (1936 Packard )

Mike, I've NEVER doubted you! I've considered you a teacher for years and trust you completely when it comes to detailing. My question, though worded poorly was if detailer or spray wax to remove the glaze have any negative effects. I tried a test spot on my 2007 black nissan frontier a few...

Hey Mike, I have a project next week that has me nervous. The car is a beautifully preserved 1936 Packard. Optimum opti bond tire gel diluted

Apply TIRE GEL by hand with an applicator to evenly spread product. Opti-Bond is not intended to be sprayed out of a typical spray bottle. Only with compressed air through a spray gun, and even then you should wipe the tires with an applicator to work the product in and spread it evenly. I use...

Pictures: 1987 Buick Regal T-Type WE4 Turbo - Show Car Makeover at Autogeek!

I really had an excellent experience. The studio is incredible and stocked with everything you can think of from the AutoGeek.net online store. I got my hands on quite a few of the Rupes polishers (Nano iBrid, Duetto, 75e, LHR15, LHR21) and was able to put some time in on them on a really rare...

POLL - What's the number one most important factor when it comes to polishing paint?

This is EASILY the PAINT itself. The condition of the paint determines which Tool, Pad, Abrasive technology, AND Technique I'm going to use to correct it. Abrasive technology and pad 'harmony' is the next most important factor.
