How often should you polish a car?

I use onr's recommended dilution rate in a spray bottle as a lubricant. You can use it after washing, but I personally feel that may pose as a way to mar the paint because the lack of lubrication.

How often should you polish a car?

I guess I really can't call it a traditional "clay". But I use the nanoskin speedy prep sponge.

How often should you polish a car?

    1. Any abrasion to the surface is going to remove clear coat. With that being said, polishing with remove microns off the thickness of the clear so it would be much safer than compounding. A good rule of thumb I tend to polish once a year and keep the clear maintained by waxing monthly and...

    Claying with Water Only!?

I don't really feel that water provides the necessary lubrication needed to use clay as friction is needed. I personally would go with 2 ounces of onr with a gallon of water in a spray bottle . That will last a long time and reduce the possibility of marring the paint. Another alternative and...

Is it necessary to use the Boar car brush to wash wheels?

Thank you. I will keep an eye out for your reply. That is really the only down side to the Daytona brushes is the splatter.

Is it necessary to use the Boar car brush to wash wheels?

Not trying to steal your thread op. How do people feel about wheel woollies compared to the speed brush for delicate finishes? I currently use the speed brush by the way.

    Incredibly Cheap Finds

Just a heads up; at Advance Auto Parts, if you look up Griot's Garage Machine Sealant Kit you will see it is listed for $199.99. It includes the 6" Random Orbital, the clay bar, speed shine, the one-step sealant, spray on wax, and the Griot's detail book. If you use the code "huge50", you can...

    Delta Spray Bottles

I honestly would recommend using a quality sprayer. The bottle doesn't matter to much although having the dilution ratios labeled on the the side is nice. I personally use the spray master bottles that can be purchased at Home Depot for about 5 dollars a piece and the Rubbermaid spray bottles...

    Favorite APC

How would you compare the cleaning ability of Meg's APC to OPC? I use OPC currently, but as you know it is relatively expensive, I am looking for a cheaper alternative for tires, wheel wells, and the engine bay so I can stretch my current stash of OPC longer.

    Most Under Rated Product?

I honestly don't see much posted on the Wheel Woolies Boar's Hair Detail Brush, but they are extremely versatile on both the exterior and interior while being extremely durable. For the exterior, its my go to brush for cleaning around the lug nuts.

    Noob detailing supplies question

I would replace the nanoskin glide clay lube with some optimum no rinse wash and shine. You will save a ton of money that way and have plenty of lubricant to go around as well as a rinse less wash and a quick detailer.

Proper towel to dry off water

I personally use the Griot's Garage Drying Towel. I generally only need one for most cars, but for larger SUV's and Trucks (Suburban, F150, etc.) it may take two. They're expensive, but if you have an Advanced Auto Parts around you and use the $20 off $50 special they are running currently then...
