He guys. Thanks for the thoughtful replies. Really appreciate it.
I have just opened and checked the Opti-Coat. Turns out I had 1.5 syringes left!
Unfortunately, the half empty syringe is gelled and clearly unusable.
The "new," unopened syringe is still fluid (like water). It seems to...
[1] I have an old, unopened syringe of the original Opti-Coat (circa 2011).
[2] Just bought a new (2017) car, and want to protect it.
[3] Looking for opinions on the best way to proceed -- are the new coatings substantially better and/or longer lasting than the old, original Opti-Coat...
Thank you for the detailed post, conman1395.
Yes, it is just a Jeep. And yes, the Jeep purists say that I should wear my scratches like badges of honor. But this is our only vehicle, and it must do double duty. Off road and daily driver. So I want to mitigate damage as much as is sanely...
Huh... Really? I didn't know that. I remember reading over and over again that *nothing* would *ever* stick to it -- including itself. And while most loved the product, many were frustrated that they couldn't wax or seal over it.
I still have an unopened box of 2.0. But I don't think it's...
I have read some other posts saying the same thing. But this video really makes me wonder...
C.A.R. Products Bullet Proof Exterior Coating-Scratch Resistance Test 5 layers - YouTube
That particular product doesn't have many reviews. So I was wondering if Opti Gloss-Coat (applied in several...
If it can indeed be layered -- and if multiple layers will significantly help to reduce abrasions and UV damage -- then yes, I'm eager to try it!
I have a specific need for some hardcore paint protection, and I'm having a difficult time finding something as durable as I require. That's why I'm...
Have been searching for an answer to this forever and still can't find a definitive YES or NO... Can Opti Gloss-Coat be layered several times to increase mar resistance?
I know Opti-Coat 2.0 could NOT be layered, but not sure about Gloss-Coat.
FWIW... I'm interested in ANY high quality...
Yeah, I read that thread... That's what makes me wonder about the veracity of the video I posted earlier. Wishful thinking I guess.
So I guess I'm off to research other ceramic coatings. Wish there was a way to cut through the marketing hype and get some real-world, long-term results...
Thank you for the replies everyone. I hadn't really thought about the paint protection film.
I'm having a difficult time choosing between all the coating options.
Does anyone have any experience with that C.A.R. "Bullet Proof" product? That video seems to be pretty impressive, but I can't...
I have a rather unique situation, and I'm hoping to score some good advice.
[1] Live & travel in a Motorhome full time.
[2] Do not have a sticks-n-bricks home, and do not have a garage.
[3] So my vehicle (sadly) lives out in the elements 100% of the time.
[4] Many/most of the campgrounds I stay...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I Opti-Coated and installed 'em tonight. They look niiiice, and should help immensely in terms of keeping the undercarriage cleaner. I will be very interested to see how long the Opti-Coat holds up and how well it performs in this demanding situation.
BEFORE...
