    SEMA 2010 Giveaway!

I'd say the best part about SEMA is the anticipation that builds leading up to the event, not to mention all of the awesome new products.

    Escort Deck Lid

You beat me to the "Submit Reply" button! Yep, I figured if I was to do some wet-sanding on an actual car (as opposed to a panel from a junk yard), this would be the car (a '97 Escort that's a daily driver with over 230,000 miles...). And you're right on about the scratch. That was what I was...

    Escort Deck Lid

I totally agree. You are both right. In fact, M105 did take out virtually all of the removable imperfections. In the sanded area I was going after a slightly deeper scratch along with comparing results with other parts of the trunk that I didn't sand. Sanding that area was essentially the...

    Escort Deck Lid

Here's a before and after shot of part of the deck lid on my dad's Escort. I didn't do the whole car as I plan on using it to try out different products. I wet sanded this area, then followed that with M105 on a wool pad and M205 on a finishing pad.

    Shoe detailing pictures.

Inspired by the thread on detailing household items (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/29430-household-items-you-ve-detailed-4.html) I decided to clean my shoes. After all, they had some M105 splatter on them. Products used: Meguiar's APC+ diluted 10:1 Optimum Protectant Plus...

Morning of Experiments: Optimum Hyper Polish, M205, M09 and D151

My pleasure. Indeed, experimenting is enjoyable. Yeah, with what I've tried it on 205 has done a nice job at removing swirl marks. No, I only had one of each pad, but I washed the pad after each use so I was always working with a clean pad (but golly, having more pads, and thus less washing...

Morning of Experiments: Optimum Hyper Polish, M205, M09 and D151

You caught me red handed. I didn't make note of that. However, with each I worked the product in fairly well, making at least 3 passes.

Morning of Experiments: Optimum Hyper Polish, M205, M09 and D151

I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, as I was typing this up I realized that I didn't use the yellow pad at all! Whoops, maybe next time... Sure thing. Thanks, yeah it didn't work as nicely as I thought it would. I'm looking to try it out with a couple other pads to see how it performs. That's good...

Morning of Experiments: Optimum Hyper Polish, M205, M09 and D151

I didn't have to go into work today, so I figured I'd do a little bit of experimenting with some products I recently obtained. My goal was to see what 1 step pad/product combination would best remove the swirls on my mom's van. Swirls Products Used Buffer: DeWalt 849 Rotary Buffer Pads...

What do mobile detailers do in the winter?

Nice. The space heater is a great idea - I hadn't thought of that before. It's good to know that winter washing can be done, the temperatures you're talking about is what I'm used to seeing. I'd be the hot water helps a lot! What about compounding, polishing, sealing and waxing? Have you...

What do mobile detailers do in the winter?

How do you go about doing mobile detailing in the winter? Particularly if you are located in a large city where people don't have personal garages for you to work in. I'm curious to hear your input.
