    Polishing Wheels

I don't mind that the finished product won't be perfect. What I am trying to avoid is for the polish on the wheel to be close to chrome. The original finish was close to a "matte", and I don't want to go beyond that.

How to upload a photo into your Autogeek Photo Gallery

There is no grey bar with the text "Upload Photos". Plus, the next few screens in your thread do not look like what I get.

    Polishing Wheels

I have an older '92 Prelude that I have ignored long enough. The wheels are a "brushed" aluminum finish and in dire need of some TLC. They used to be clear-coated, but the coating has worn off long ago. I am looking for suggestions on a product to use to clean-up the wheels and then polish...

GG15 or 21 - Backing Plates and Pads

Presently own a Porter-Cable 7424 and a Meguiars 3000 and I want something with a bit more power; am thinking about getting a GG15 or 21. However, I have invested a lot of money into various backing plates and Lake Country Pads for these machines. From reading about the GG, it appears that...

    Sealant vs Wax

Can someone please give me the "Cliff's Notes" version of why sealant over wax, or wax over sealant? What are the relative advantages/disadvantages of each?

    Leather Conditioning

I have a '95 Vette in which the the door over the small storage compartment in the driver's side door broke. Had to order another one from a salvage yard. Just received it and it is in pretty good condition, no cracking in the leather, but the black leather over it has started to fade and turn...

    Outdoor Car Show How-to

Okay, I've washed my car well, used clay, polished and waxed, in addition to all of the trim, tires, wheels, etc. Now, I drive the car for 1.5 hours to get to an outdoor show. What do you suggest I do to the car after I get it parked. In the past, I used a spray detailer and it seems to work...

    Compound vs swirl remover

Have been watching a few of your videos w/Dennis Gage wherein you wanted to remove swirls in the finish. In a number of them, you opted to use an "engineered" compound vs a swirl remover. Since you always seem to recommend using the least aggressive produce first, my question is how to decide...

    Cloudy Spot in Paint

The prelude was repainted about a year ago. Don't know about the Corvette as I've only owned it for about a year. Can you explain "ghosting" to me?

    Cloudy Spot in Paint

Hi Mike, First I want you to know that I follow you on the autogeek website and I purchased both of your books; find them very informative. The two cars are: a 1992 Honda Prelude which has always been kept under carport when parked. The second is a 1995 Corvette, which has always been...

    Cloudy Spot in Paint

I am new to detailing. I have 2 black cars that have what appears to me, to be a "cloudy" spot in the finish. I am probably wrong, but it appears that this spot is "under" the clear coat. On one of the cars, it is probably about 2cm in diameter, and on the other, there are two spots, probably...
