I only have an after picture. This is going to sound silly but, I used an flat orange LC pad with meg UC and made 4 sectional passes. Koz

That's right I used my Flex 3401 on a solid surface type (Corian) counter top with meg UC and they look amazing. lol Koz

You would have to get new pads but it would work. Koz

You can use the 3M 4" Edge pads with the adapter. I know that doesn't help with the Megs. I thought I read someone had cut a BP down to fit a 4" pad. Koz

This was their reply. "Yes it is 9600 rpm but has to be seen as two strokes 4800 forth and 4800 back." Koz

I would go even further on this point. I think the fact that the rotation being forced in the opposite direction of the orbital rotation is the key to its effectiveness. Think about it, you have two opposite cutting forces happening at the same time. Sort of like cross-cutting a lawn, in one...

The factory spec for the 3401 is "Orbital Rate - 3200-9600 RPM" not stroke rate (From their website). Side by side comparisons show that the 3401 corrects faster then the PC. Some people claim the PC and/or other ROs have more OPM and more power (Looking at output power, not input power)...

You both were using the same pad type/size and product? A smaller pad can be used on the Flex (4" 3M Edge). The Flex's opm is faster then the GG (The Flex and GG's opms are both direct drive), its the force rotation that is different (Gear driven). There is more to performance then power...

There is only one way to determine if the forced rotation is worth diverting power and extra money. You are in the position to make that determination. You and your partner could do a side-by-side comparison on the same vehicle with the same pads/products. This would be VERY interesting! Koz
