Mike, do you have a write up on what the class did to this boat from start to finish? Very impressive results!

Griot's 6 inch DA with 3 inch pads?

Yes, I believe that is the backing plate they are speaking of.

Griot's 6 inch DA with 3 inch pads?

Hey guys. Looking to utilize a buffer for smaller areas that a 6" buffer won't get into. Has anyone put the 3" backing plate on the Griot's 6" DA? If so, how did it perform? I see a lot of people say the 3" DA is way under powered so I'm just looking for any other options for those tight hard to...

Need advice: Flex Pe14 or Rupes 21

Sorry guys, I need to clarify. This buffer is for more of the finess work, not the grunt work. I have a heavy duty snap on rotary that can do the heavy gel coats. Thanks for all of the replies! Your advice won't go to waste.

Need advice: Flex Pe14 or Rupes 21

Guys, I know this has probably been discussed and I do realize that these are two totally different animals but I need some educated, experienced advice before I take the plunge. As I stated before, I know that i'm comparing apples to oranges since the actions of these buffers are different. I...

DeWALT DWP849X vs Makita 9227C Rotary Buffers

Mike, I know you've mentioned that the Makita is an old time favorite but with all the advancements in the past few years is the Makita still your go-to rotary or do you tend to choose something else?

    Duragloss 105/501/601?

Rwright, in terms of what I'm trying to achieve, I'm just looking for the best looking longest lasting finish and wasn't sure if 105 or 501 would be better. Bobby, so you're saying you like to do 501 then move into the 105/601 combo? Also, if DG products are so good why don't they charge more...

    Duragloss 105/501/601?

Hey guys, I know this has been covered many times but every other thread seems to only discuss combining DG 601 with one or the other (DG 105 or 501). There doesn't seem to be much discussion on what are the benefits of one over the other. I realize 501 is a polish and 105 is a polymer/wax, but...

    A Detailers Lifestyle*

Negative, I'm not quite that deep yet. I bet it irks ya to the core! I take it this is what goes through your head when you walk through a parking lot>> :pc7424:

    A Detailers Lifestyle*

Haha I hear ya! I like the "take a step back" approach and think to myself "nah nah nah. Call me what ya want, but my car is cleaners than yours". It's kind of ashame so many people walk around oblivious to the small details in life, if you know what I mean.

    Big hello from Ohio!

Where ya out of DP 08 GXP? Seems like there is a decent amount of members out of Ohio, or that just saw this post. I forgot to mention one more thing Ohio has to offer, which gives us Northern members a reason to constantly clean our vehicles, road salt! Haha So if any of you southerners want...

    A Detailers Lifestyle*

I think it's safe to say that society would classify detailers as "anal retentive", does this trait transfer over to the rest of your lives? (I.e.-- mowing the yard, projects around the house, cleaning dishes, ect). I often find myself spending way too much time trying to perfect other...

    Big hello from Ohio!

I'm from a small town about 60 minutes northwest of Columbus. And you're right Bill! About all Ohio has to offer is Skyline chili and The Ohio State Buckeyes ;) haha Thanks again for all the gracious support! I've been reading deeper and deeper into the forum and found an amazing thread. A...

    Big hello from Ohio!

Hi everyone! I've been a member on here for a while but never really used the forum until recently and have never introduced myself. I have found this forum to be almost scary with how helpful it is! I work at a boat marina where we work with heavy gel coats and also love detailing cars! Like...
