Thank you both. I'll try the CarPro Water Spot remover to see what happens but based on that article by Mike - if I have type III water spots I will need to abrade the paint. Not fun :(

I've been slowly working on a 02' BMW E39 and have worked my way to the B pillars. When I went for an initial inspection with a light I noticed what seemed to be water spots that seemed really deep? There are some drip marks that make it look more like it's embedded into the paint...
