Another ridiculously humid day here so I tried it again but this time I used a damp microfiber. 2 sprays in the towel and not a streak to be seen. Buff off was effortless.
I just started using it on my black Explorer. The first time I applied it, the humidity was brutal. I got really bad streaking. I was only using 2 sprays in a microfiber. Tried again when the humidity was low and it worked perfectly. No streaking at all and was very easy to buff off.
Im also in NJ and durability is not as important as ease of use for me. Ive never gone more than 2 weeks without applying something. I will add that my vehicle is not kept outside so Im sure that is a factor. I usually put on a sealant in Spring and Fall then maintain with one of the spray products.
I took delivery of a 2021 Explorer ST in July. Told the dealer to not touch it when it came off the truck. They didn't. I was lucky that it didn't sit in a lot after it was built so it wasn't that dirty at all. That being said it had a lot of rail dust so I would plan on doing the whole works.
Took delivery of a 2021 Explorer ST and tried some Griots 3-1 Ceramic. End result is pretty good but it really streaked badly. Im thinking it was the extreme humidity. Thankfully the dealer didn't touch it when it rolled off the truck.
Very timely topic. Im getting a new black SUV in a few weeks so I think Im going to give the Griots 3-1 a try as a base. I have some BM and some Xtreme Poly Seal to use as a topper. Vehicle is garage kept when not at work.
I agree the multiple MF's logically make the most sense. I don't even use grit guards and multiple buckets when I do a contact wash. I just rinse the mitt in between panels. I know a lot of people use the BRS with other RW's so if they don't have the same 'water ionic' feature (I googled it lol)...
So ONR says that with their formula, the dirt releases in the solution and falls to the bottom of the bucket. I cant remember the technical speak for that but that is the general idea from my understanding. Is this common for the other RW's out there ?
