IPA makes paint soft. That is why it induces marring. Be careful with any product contain IPA during final wipe down. All that hard work will be for nothing if you scratch the heck out of your car with your towel and IPA.
I love the cts-v! Too bad they are changing it for 2014. Why would they put a 420hp twin turbo v6? I think the supercharged v8 with 550hp was the selling point.
Actually Eraser does too. I have cut everything out with IPA in it. It might just be the paint on my car, but everything I use with IPA induces marring every time used. I will do a panel, wipe it down with menz top inspection and all is good. Rewash then reinspect, still all good. Use...
Just be careful. A IPA wipe down can soften paint while wiping which will cause scratching/marring. It happens to my car every time I do a IPA wipe down. I switched to wurth clean solv prep instead.
This happens all the time when I drive in Indiana. I lost count of how many confrontations I had do to this. Maybe because I have Illinois plates. LOL But this always happens on the country roads.
The pink pad could be leaving some marring behind. Did you try a finishing pad at all. I would not do a one step with anything higher than a LC white pad, meaning no pink, orange or yellow without following with a grey.
The green has a very mild cut to it. Remember there are 2 greens, one dark and one light. Light green is the one just above the grey/black. It is a good one step pad.
Flat pads are great for Menzerna products since they have diminishing abrasives(DAT). A CCS will hold the polish and some will not break down from being help in the dimple. So flat pads with diminishing abrasives is a good combo. CCS works good with SMAT products like Megs and optimum.
That car definitely needs a polish badly. Like stated above, wash it again while using ironx, then clay it and then polish it. You will need a 2 step to get all those out.
