What about if the thing is just dusty as heck and you want to clean it without introducing more scratches? whats the best chance at not doing that?

If you're getting professional help with therapy, make sure you tell them your work challenges too. Tell them everything and dont hold back or they can't help you. its a tough fight dealing with yourself and with others at the same time, good luck and keep at it.

i say contact the banquet manager of the hotel, or if the convention center is a separate body, contact their sale liason. you can usually work something out if you explain your situation, and what your actual environmental impact will be.
