I've used gorilla glue, it foams around the outside. The emblem is now metal. Can you cut the foam with a razor and use touch up paint to doctor? A new hood, yeah, trunk lid, yeah, remembering what you did every time he gets in, priceless. Lots of sympathy at low cost can get you a lifetime...
