Great info everyone. The painter told me not to "wax" the car for at least 30 days. So, I had no plans to wax it, but just wanted to polish it to get rid of the swirls left behind. I am nearing that 30 day mark.

Is it ok to polish (not wax or seal) new paint (3 weeks old)? I know not to wax the car to allow it to release some chemicals, but I just want to polish (no wax) it to remove some of the swirls in the paint. The polishes I have are Meguiars and Rupes. Thanks for any input.

Great. I just shipped mine off today. It seems the electronic module is bad as the machine hums when pressing the button and every now and then it would start and then stop, but while it's running it would modulate on settings 4-6. I'm still kind off pissed because I only used the machine...

Old Faithful is so true. I had to reach for the PC this past weekend because my Rupes 21 was dead and it only received minimal usage, but man my arms were itchy. I'm going to purchase the Makita DA now. I'm sending the Rupes in for fix, but if it dies again, I will use it as a huge pad drier.
