sorry for reviving this thread but i have a question. Before asking my question, let me just say hats off Mr. Rasky! The car looks great. Now my question, was there a need to finish using M205/HT pads? Were there noticeable compounding swirls or haze after m105/surbuf?

I am confused as this thread says that the 3m black waffle pad is a finishing pad? http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/104112-my-finishing-pad-review.html Or are we talking about 2 different 3m black foam pads?

Thanks for pointing that out. I would probably use the pad for all around work > to remove sanding marks from repainting or for removing medium to heavy swirl marks. I need an all around pad which will last long. IME, LC pads don't offer that. :)

Has anybody had experience using these new 3M foam compounding pads? How do they compare to Lake Country yellow or Megs burgundy pads? I hate my LC Orange pad because the foam starts to disintegrate after a couple of uses. The megs last longer but they are expensive here in the Philippines...
