Hi - it was about 4 per section. I'm guessing from what everyone is saying I overworked the area as it was to large. I'm going to cut the hood into 6 sections with 3 passes each and see if that helps. Fresh pads on the way - thanks for your help. Mark

Backing plate is great. Only got through the pad face not the second layer or velcro. So I learned a good lesson and will give it another go as soon as my pads arrive. Thanks
Just the one that came with the kit. Only wanted to experiment on the hood so I learned a $14 lesson.......LOL. Ive got more on the way and also going to try the uro-tech maroon as suggested.

So I unboxed my new Griot's polisher and after watching countless tutorials, dove in. I blew out the pad just doing the hood, so clearly my technique is lacking.
I washed and clayed the car then allowed to dry overnight.
