I recently wet sanded the hood of my black 05 Mustang. Started with 1500and finished with 2000. using the PC and some Optimum compound I was able to get the scratches out just fine, although it took some playing with pads, pressure and speed. I ended finding that on my hood it took an Edge...
Regardless of the issues I am having with the consistancy of the product. I used it and it works great! I am very pleased with the final results. But I was / am still worried about the issue of the clumping. My thoughts were also that possibly there is something wrong with the formula? To...
Well, it is possible that I did not shake it enough to clear it out. I feel like putting it ina big bowl and kneading it a little... Kinda like dough...:awesome: Joking...
I will try again tomorrow when I do the rest of the car... weather permitting... Thanks!
I just received my 32oz of Optimum polish. Earlier today I finally had some time to go out and finish the hood that I had wet sanded a few weeks ago. When I went to put some of the Optimum polish on the pad... nothing would come out. I figured maybe some dried polish was blocking the spout...
Yeah, I found those a week or so ago. Just prior to starting. The end result is that the scratches are gone. I used some Optimum compound with an Edge 2000 yellow pad. I am waiting on some Optimum polish and plan to use a light pad to get the minor hazing and other imperfections out of the...
Sorry, no camera right now, I lent it to someone and they still have it.
I know they are from the final sanding (2000 Grit) since all of the slight scratches are going from left to right across the hood. They are slight but still visible. I think that maybe I need a little more pressure at a...
Well, I finally got up the nerve to wet sand my hood today. I had an "ex-girlfriend" incident back in November. She took handfuls of rocks and proceeded to run them in circles over my hood.
Well, I took some 1500 paper and did the hood from center to outside on each side, then 2000 paper...
Here is something for medium to deep scratches... They also have some for minor suface issues
Eastwood makes two kits... GLass Polishing Kit Pro for minor surface issues and a Deep Polishing Kit for heavier scratches..
I had my first experience with the Edge pads yesterday afternoon and I must say that I really loved the quick change ability as well as the rounded edges... Maybe there are others out there that rock... but the Edge certainly stands on it's own merits.
Again I want to thank everyone that has assisted in my decision process. I will try and get some before and after pics since the "Black" cars seem to be the bears to deal with when it comes to a really good finished product. I should mention that the one true thing that has driven me to this...
Well I bit and ordered the Edge 6" pads. Orange, Blue and White as well as the adpater for the PC. As for the "cutting" product. I had some Zaino Z-PC, Z2-Pro and Z-6 lef tover from last year and plan on using it until it is gone. Then I think I would like to try some Poorboys and others to...
