Bring back the shine on our first new to us camper (gel coat)

Thanks Mike. Not a waste of time at all. I didn't have a clue that you could get those kind of results. Somewhat in defense of the OP's detail guy, I'm sure this isn't the sort of work that most guys are thinking for a "simple wash/wax" for $10 a foot (maybe per sq foot). However, they should...

When you all say per foot--do you mean like a 40' mh would be $480 or do you mean linear foot as a 40' mh might be 97' lineal footage?

    First Time detailing an RV

Caulking kind of depends on what material it is and how well it's applied. Nice smooth bead- Magic eraser works well. Lumpy, bubbly bead. Apply degreaser to microfiber, let it cook a bit, brush with soft tooth brush, wipe off with microfiber and or MagicEraser. Not a whole lot of fun

Which machine is best? Orbital, DA Orbital, Random Orbital, Rotary for removing oxidation on gel coat fiberglass RV?

It would be nice if companies gave some sort of "recommended coverage". Any idea as to how much Sonax might be needed to coat a 40' mh?

    Wheel Shmegma

Maybe the pictures don't do it justice but I thought it was spot on!

    Wheel Shmegma

Any "production" style remedies? He's not looking for a show car finish, just wants to clean the rig up and protect its future. I think he's realized that the guy he was paying $80 for a 35 footer wasn't such a good deal.

    Wheel Shmegma

Got these wheels on a 5th wheel project. Wondering if anyone knows what might have happened to them and how it might be corrected. My gut says they had some sort of clearcoat and someone may have used some sort of solvent to "clean" them.

    Restore white plastic?

I'll have to give it a shot on mine. This job just isn't paying enough

    Restore white plastic?

They used to use the same stuff on cheap dishwashers and other appliances trim. ABS plastic?

    White caulk and bidnezz

I got into a job doing a 5th wheel that was "supposed" to be a simple 1 step wash & wax. Once I got there, I found that the original roof sealant had been gone over with white silicone and not very neatly. The only thing I found to clean it was degreaser and a tooth brush. Even that wasn't...

    Tip: Locking plug

Yep. However, when you're climbing around on ladders and staging, they always hang up when you don't want em to. You know when you go around the corner of that rv, that knot will get stuck in the tires :)

    Restore white plastic?

lol- when I saw the first sentence, I thought you meant using a 3d printer. Soon to come: "How I got snockered on my first "pro" gig."

    Restore white plastic?

There's tons of info about black plastic but how can I restore white plastic that has yellowed? I have seen some hobby type info about soaking parts in a solution that sounds straight out of the Anarchist's Cookbook but I don't think it's appropriate in this situation

    Tip: Locking plug

If you are tired of cords separating or tying ends up in knots, try this locking cord end. Cerrowire 15 Amp 125-Volt Stay Plugged Replacement End-630-15AREPLEND - The Home Depot
