I didn't get that far yet, but it's quite powerful at 30%.

Brand New iBrid HLR15 Vibrating like Crazy

Alright the new machine arrived. It's definitely smoother than the one I sent back, but it's still not as smooth as my MarkIII. Is that what you experienced as well? I was going to sell my MarkIII but now I think I'm going to keep it. Some folks said the MarkIII was more powerful but I'm not...

Well if that's the case, I am especially confident that mine was a defective unit. Honestly I have a Griots G9 that is smoother than the HLR15 sent to me, so something was definitely amiss.

Much appreciated and will keep that in mind. Right now I think I'm stuck with the item, just praying that the replacement functions because I'm getting annoyed being without the tool for longer than anticipated.

Unfortunately all the Amazon listings have "no returns" listed due to "shipping restrictions" presumably because of the battery, which is obv. bunk because the non-Amazon websites have returns. We'll see how the replacement goes, there's still the option to return if item is "not as described"...

$735 for the kit. I think that's minimum MSRP set by Rupes, since it's identical everywhere. I really liked the tool otherwise and was very disappointed. The replacement will be shipping out tomorrow and will probably arrive in 3-4 days. I understand it's absurdly expensive, which is why I...

Purchased new. My theory is that it was returned and resold as "new", otherwise I can't explain the horribly bent washer, and why it's vibrating so horribly. A lot of times with Amazon it's hard to distinguish what's new from what was sold once before, opened and returned.

Brand New iBrid HLR15 Vibrating like Crazy

Just got one delivered today off Amazon and something is definitely wrong. There's no way Rupes let this thing leave the factory without turning it on first. It clearly has vibration issues. I have 3 other Rupes polishers and all pass the "air test" with flying colors. This fails miserably. Yes...

Worth the upgrade to Griots G9?

Just took mine for it's inaugural spin, today. Pun intended. Wow, this thing's only $170 and comes with a Lifetime Guarantee? Glad I passed on the Rubes. I ran the 1-minute full-speed "test" from the instructions, however, and It did launch a Rubes 6" microfiber yellow clear across the room...

Apologies. I thought you were directly responding to the idiom I posted. Must be huffing too much clearcoat.

Help me choose my first polisher

Sorry, I should've clarified: I meant the Webster definition, "...a thing that can be bought for a very low price probably isn't very good". Will just have to again reiterate that in economics, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and if the price is too good to be true, generally it's...

    sonax cut & finish ?

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Question: is Cut & Finish supposed to be watery? I got a small bottle and it's very thin and splatters everywhere. Counterfeit maybe?

You can't go wrong with the idiom, "you get what you pay for". That's all I'm really saying. I'll leave it to the good folks of Autogeek to do that math on that. I'm not even sure what is the topic anymore. Someone made the remark "because iPhones" or something we should all rush to buy...

Help me choose my first polisher

It was implied via a one degree of separation reply quote (a reply to someone replying to me). Agreed everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, I wasn't opining. GDP/capita in China is one of the lowest in the world, and it's not because of the great wages... Lower wages, ergo cheaper...

I would argue that by definition, they're all trying to cut costs. Hence why they're manufacturing in China in the first place. Am I really making controversial statements here? YMMV.
