I think every detailer has at some point mixed products for various reasons. I myself having recently mixed a rinseless wash with some liquid Carnauba wax to see what the results would be. Aside from the manufacture, none of us can really tell you if it's 100% good or bad.
I personally feel claybar is essential to the process regardless of how clean YOU think the paint might be, it's an added peace of mind to know you took all the precautions. Do a search of the forum or Google baggie test.
My wife is a 2010 C and I use MF on the seats all the time when cleaning them and have no problems. Assuming you use quality ones I don't see a problem with it.
It should be, however I had an issue where even following those steps, my car want beading very well. Someone suggested that after using the PBL polish to follow up with a IPA wipedown to ensure a even cleaner surface for the coating to bond.
There are many and it's really up to you to decide which suits you more. I've used CQuartz, Pinnacle Black Label, CG, etc. It's after going through the different brands that I was able to settle on one that suited my needs most.
Honestly I think your best answer is to test the products you've narrowed down yourself and see which one suits your needs/standards better. I've gone by forum recommendations before and while grateful, didn't always meet my needs or standards as each person is different.
I have by machine but I still prefer to do it by hand. Doing it by hand allows me to feel the contours of the body and work the wax in those areas. I work the wax in so I usually don't worry so much about high spots.
