    New Vehicle Question

My wife would have a complete freak out if our new car came home with white plastic all over the front of it. I am unsure of the process but I used to know a prep guy at Toyota and the new cars off the boats needed some type of spray to completely remove the coverings put on for shipping. I...

    New Vehicle Question

Its been a long time since I have been on here but with a new vehicle on order I might get back on the detailing horse. Up North here we only have 6 months of quality detailing time, and the urge wains when I look outside and see a salt covered vehicle and the temps are well below freezing...

    Want used extractor

Yeah the only problem is Southern Ontario doesn't have a huge detailing crowd. Could be our six months of winter and our less crazy car culture. I wish this site had a classifieds section. Pat

    Want used extractor

Does anyone out there know where I could find a good used extractor for personal use. I would be willing to go $400 or so for a used Aztec or something similar. I just can't justify the cost of brand new when I only detail my own stuff and perhaps a couple of paying jobs a year for...

Critical Details: 2003 Honda Civic SI

My car has only a little extra wear in that area. Original owners were older couple who really babied the car. I know it is a common issue, I believe the actual seat covers can be purchased from Honda. They have a zipper in the back to be replaceable. Not cheap but it is an option. What did you...

Critical Details: 2003 Honda Civic SI

Nice job on that EP3... mine is that lovely EuroYellowPearl color....not quite as nice as that blue. You went over and above with that detail. Pat.

    Polishing smaller areas??

I was working on a friends freshly painted car that he washed with a brush on a pole. Ugly scratches everywhere. I usually tape off all edges when using the rotary so my question is how do I do some of the tighter areas. Its an older Mustang convertible so it has that piece along the rear...

    Opti-seal dressing??

I kind of wondered whether that would be an issue. I had to wash the foam applicator to get some old product out of it, and it wasn't allowed enough time to totally dry. I would assume working on a room temp surface would also promote a more even finish. Thanks, Pat.

    Opti-seal dressing??

I will try that, thanks Irish. It doesn't seem that thick to me for a gel, this is a brand new 32oz. bottle, do I have to shake it up? Pat.

    Opti-seal dressing??

Just picked up 32oz. of the Optimum tire dressing. I used it on tires, of course, and also splash guards and most of my black trim. Tires look good, splash guards look great, trim is so-so. Some areas don't seem to have come out even in color. I was using a damp large foam applicator and it was...

Are some stains just too much??

I have 4 year old floor mats from my wife's Rav4. That lovely light gray color, and they have been sitting around in the garage for the winter since I put rubber ones in to keep the salt off the carpets. Well they had the usual discolored areas especially where your feet normally go, and the odd...

Meguiars Headlight & Clear Plastic Restoration Kit

I have used the 3M kit as well. Very nice setup. I just wish they included more of the flexible sanding disc so more lights could be corrected with the purchase of only one kit. Pat.

Don't be taken for a Ride!!!!

Not to ruffle any feathers here but I call it as I see it. Compared to say Amazing Roll Off I saw no brown at all rolling off the tires. Simple Green or Castrol Purple seemed to work better on the wheels and they aren't even dedicated wheel cleaners. I must admit I am used to more of the gel...

Don't be taken for a Ride!!!!

I posted on these forums over a year ago about some new detailing products available at our local Zellers. ( Think Canadian Target ) The pricing was not cheap and I passed thinking that the price will have to come down to move this merchandise. Well finally, I entered the store and the whole...

What is a good TIRE Dressing?

My personal favorite is Licorice Black by System One. Gives a nice matte finish and lasts a long time. Smells like licorice too, if your interested. Tough to source here in Canada though. My bottle has run out and I will try to find another at a reasonable cost. Pat.
