Yeah, unfortunately I want to track my daily driver. But also keep it looking good with minimal effort. Thank you everyone for you help and recommendations.
@desertnate - the texture of the brake dust is rough to the touch and when i rubbed my finger over it it turn my fingertip black.
@eldorado2k - thank you for confirming that the wheel clear is safe. I will have to get some after I run out of my other wheel cleaner.
Yeah, it was about 3 months of baked on brake dust and after a track weekend as well. Let call this a lesson learned. I will be coating the wheels after I get them clean.
I did purchase a larger steam cleaner. I will have it Friday and will post the results with before and after photos. I think that it will do the job after my test with the handheld.
@Desertnate - I am not sure on the texture, I will have to check it out and report back.
I did try to use my small handheld steam cleaner while agitating the brake dust with a small nylon bush last night. It did seem to work but I think I need a bigger machine with a more concentrated jet of steam to make it time efficient.
