As far as I understood it quick detailer is only for dust, not film. Film happens when dust or dirt becomes moist and bonds to the paint when that moisture evaporates. So if there is dew or even a good amount of humidity in the air when it cools down overnight, you'll see on your car fog spots...

I just reviewed his method and minus the pre-soak I was actually more careful, using one quarter side per one swipe vs using one quarter side per whole panel.
My issue was definitely the pre-soak. This should be emphasized more. Don't do rinseless (or waterless wash) without a nice heavy spray...
Drying with clean 420 gsm edge less towels changing to clean side after a couple passes.
I've always been skeptical about drying with one ww towel and just wringing it out. Seems like somewhere you are going to have missed a spot and the rinse and wring won't clear all the particulates off...

Not likely. I just polished it 4 weeks ago and used M205. As I said the swirl on the hood was exactly the movement I used on that one pass.
I think rinseless really requires a pre-moisten with solution. I may have wrung out my towels a bit too much, but they were dripping.
I am actually not allowed to technically wash my car where I live. I do, and get away with it frequently, but leaving a parking lot full of foam is not exactly going to work for me.

Good thread. I wondered about this also after my first polish then seal. M205 then Klasse sealant. Good to know my polish wipe down with just a microfiber was sufficient before sealant.

The polishing went great and I'm really happy with the results. Used both sets of pads (tangerine and white) but didn't really notice much difference in cut. I decided to stick to the M205 and I didn't try the McKees 360 as I wanted to stick to my Klasse sealant.

I actually couldn't change my order so I have 2 tangerine and now two white pads. I'll start leat aggressive with Mckees 360 on white> 360 on tangerine > m205 on white > m205 on tangerine. And see where it gets me.

I grabbed 2 white 5.5 thinpro pads, a 5inch backing plate, The M205 and McKee's 360 (i'll try both as test spots and see which works best, anyone know which is more aggressive?)
I'll use the Clean on the fly technique Mike posted and also take some breaks for more thorough pad...
