Need help with inside glass cleaning

I also like Invisible Glass, and agree that using two microfiber towels works great, since using a clean section of the towel is essential to avoid having smudges or streaks. I've been wondering lately though if anybody uses ONR to clean the inside of their windows. It works great on the...

Old Painters Tape Stuck on Trim?

If you have a high end, show quality paint job done they might sand as far down as to bare metal; but for an average paint job you don't generally go to that extent. More than likely they just scuffed the factory paint to give it some 'tooth' for the new paint to stick to, and shot the new paint...

Old Painters Tape Stuck on Trim?

I had the same problem of old stuck on masking tape residue on my project Mustang and used Goo Gone with much success. It's a solvent based product sold for this type of problem (Goof Off is another similar brand) and will easily dissolve old tape residue & adhesive. Just be advised it will also...

    Head light restoration

I got them from NAPA auto parts, the 6" sanding discs are also 3M. I assume they may sell the 3" velcro discs separate but I could not find them locally. Luckily the adhesive backed discs stick to a used sanding pad very well.

    Head light restoration

I've used that kit on two of my cars and had great results as well. My only critique is I wish it came with more of the 500 grit sanding discs. I just did my Mercedes which has headlights with a lot of surface area and I ended up needing more sandpaper for the first sanding step. I bought 6"...

    Cheap Air Blower...

I use a cheap leaf blower for drying my cars and it works great. My drying process is usually wipe windows/roof/hood with a silicone squeegee, then dry car 99% with an Absorber, then follow up with the leaf blower to get the body seams, trim, & wheels. I never have issues with water spots, but...

Need product advice- cleaning & protecting interior and tires ?

Hello all, first of all I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I've been doing a lot of searching and reading various threads, but thought maybe some pros could answer my particular questions a lot more directly than I could find the answers... I recently picked up a new vehicle (new to...

    Chemical Guys Microfiber Detergent

I'm using Smartwax Clean Microfiber, which I've heard is the same as CG's (no proof of that though so someone correct me if I'm wrong). It works well. MF's come out very clean and soft with no pilling or flattening of the fibers (mostly use CG's 'Professional Grade Premium' microfibers). I wash...

REMOVAL of Glass Scratches with CarPro and a Griots DA

Great writeup. I purchased the Ceriglass and CarPro pads in 3" and 5" to correct severe water spots on my 1991 Jeep. Used with my HF DA, and I can report that these products work great! Not only are my awful water spots long gone, I was even able to remove some light scratches as well. You'll...

    Nasty Wheel Barrels, Help Please!

I'd hit the wheel barrels with some filler primer, sand, paint, clear coat, call it good. You might need two or three coats of the primer to fill in all the pits but I wouldn't use a product like bondo- that would be way too much work. A light filler putty might work okay, but really the primer...

    New member intro

Hey everyone, new AGO member here. I just found this forum a couple weeks ago and have been reading it non-stop! My name is Alex and I reside in Portland, Oregon. I've been interested in caring for vehicles literally since before I could drive; and I got into learning about 'real' detailing when...

    Some Buffing Questions about Tape

What about using IPA to clean off the tape residue? Maybe a slightly higher concentration than you'd use for removing polishing residue if need be? I'm also curious to hear if you guys let your pad touch the tape, or if you just get as close as possible to it without actually touching it. When...

If you had to chose one brand...

Meg's for me. I've always been very happy with their products and appreciate that they're reasonably priced.
