I've been detailing cars since my step dad had me waxing his 56 chevy when I was 8. That would be 1960, and as a pro - as in - made my living at it since the early 1980s.
I believe in side by side product testing and don't care who makes the products I use. I do tend to trust some brands more than others because, over time, they've been consistent and their descriptions have been accurate but over all, I evaluate every product as it is.
Value for money matters more to me than a perfect job. Typically, for a car that's driven and washed once a week, I don't worry about doing things that won't last past the first wash. I spend my time and my client's money on what will make the car look good for the longest possible time between details. Paint correction to the extent it can be done safely, leaving the interior clean and treated with products that won't attract dirt, sealing the paint and hard serfaces with products that last and are easy for my clients to reapply should they want too.
