Another sort of similar method. My Dad swore by placing a dish of moist coffee grounds in the car along with half of an apple. Close the car up and let it sit over night. I have yet to try it myself. Worth a shot.
D151 is a cleaner/wax. It has the ability to provide some cut for light defect removal and also finishes down well. Just don't expect the results of a full paint correction when you have more severe defects.
