Thanks so much for the input guys, this is exactly what I was looking for. I will likely polish and re-coat since I already have the products needed and I need to work on my efficiency anyways. I would indeed like to try the Tar-X or Tarminator but I don't have any at this time and my wife would...
Honestly that's exactly the expertise I was hoping to find! I thought "surely there is a fire fighter on here who loves detailing."

I will keep that in mind, thanks for the input [emoji106] I'll update this thread when I get around to polishing.

I'll probably just use the Blackfire pro Primer Polish on a white lake country pad. I'm pretty sure that will work. I guess I was just really hoping to avoid (re)doing all this work.

I did just receive a shipment of Glass Weld Pro Clean that I use with 0000 steel wool on water spot covered windows. It's water based though. Could I try to polish those spots off the paint with the Pro Clean by hand? Shouldn't I just use a polish made for paint at that point?

I don't claim to know anything about fire fighting, but there was definitely white stuff on the truck and now that I've got the majority of it off there's spots from where they were. I guess what I'm saying is it definitely wasn't just water.

Then I tried Blackfire paint prep and lots of it, moving slow and letting the product work across the surface. This ended up providing the best result with...
Thanks for the replies, lots of good info.
I think I will exhaust all measures before re-doing the whole coating job. With a wife and an 8 month old it's hard to spend the entire weekend in the garage "just cleaning the car", plus I haven't quite acquired the pace and efficiency of a real pro...
Sounds like your windshield needs to be polished. I've read a how-to thread on it and apparently it is widely accepted that you need a rotary polisher to properly do the job along with a lot of patience. My windshield does the same thing, i can't see anything because of oncoming headlights when...
I mean, some of the dots do come off with enough elbow grease and passes, but like I said I'd like to preserve the coating if possible.
Will I damage the coating if I clay with pressure?
I was in the garage this weekend doing a 1 step paint correction and ceramic coating on my friends 2008 G35S and my wife comes in, 8 month old in hand, to urgently get my attention mid section pass. So I threw my poor Griot's polisher down and ran outside to find my neighbors house on fire. I've...
