I've been using "SuperClean" for a year or two now. 1 gallon costs $15 and as long as you don't let it dry on the rims it wont damage them. You can also use this stuff to remove bugs but it takes the wax off too. Its really powerful even diluted. I dilute it 1 part cleaner to 5 parts water...

When I'm done using mine i drop them in a bucket of hose water then I spray my APC ( all purpose cleaner ) on the face of the pad and agitate with my hand until i don't see any residue remaining. I rinse them out really well with the hose, then I fold them in half and squeeze most of the water...

Try "Super Clean", you can pick it up at most stores ( Pepboys, Autozone, Walmart ) I spray it on/in the wheel and let it dwell for 20 seconds before agitating it with my wheel brush or a paint brush, it gets everything off and I've never had a problem with it hazing on the wheel, just don't...

I think I would rather have 1 5.5" cutting pad and 1 5.5" finishing pad rather than 2 5.5" cutting pads and 1 6.5" finishing pad. Just want to keep things even, but it's just my personal preference Thanks for verifying that I can do this and good luck with completing your garage / airplane...

I just use plain 'ol Leather Chamois, it doesn't lint, it is very flexible, it wrings out easily but the coolest part is that it turns into a solid form of whatever shape you dried it in lol :laughing:
