    I hate pollen?

Agree. Worse yet, St. Louis has had just enough misting rain in the last week, infrequently, that combined with the pollen makes a goo on the paint.

12 washes with ONR (heavy pic's)

I got started with detailing my own cars about three years ago and used this forum and the Megs forum to get going. Started out as a Megs guy (still am) but started playing with the Optimum products last year (does this sound familar, heh, heh?) I like this product a lot. Even more, though, I...

Ask: Anything about Optimum Opti Seal!!!

Agree. I like both products. However, as an experiment I did a fall clean up on the paint, used Opti-Seal (2 coats) and finished with 845. That was late October. Used brushless washes at a decent car wash operation here in STL. REALLY pleased with the results.

    Winter/salt protection

I don't think your wrong. I just don't know. Intuitively, I think your right. Establish the base with good paint prep, seal, and coat with 845. Sacrifice the 845 during the winter knowing the seal is the ultimate backstop. Part of the problem with this thinking is that 845 is listed as a...

    Winter/salt protection

BTW, how does one prove that Opti-Seal migrates the wax to a topper? I dont' dispute Dr. G as I really like the Optimum products and the results are good. I just don't know how you prove that conclusion. Thoughts?

    Winter/salt protection

Agree. Its so easy to use as a wipe on walk away. Perfect to combine with 845 qualities. We'll see. The look of the two is really good and I'm pleased. At the end, results count. It'll be interesting to see how this looks in Feb. For now, I'm happy.

    Winter/salt protection

Actually did use opti-seal first, a mos or so ago. From other web forums I ge the impression that the opti-seal will migrate the 845 as a topper. not sure how that works or how you can prove it. All I know is the opti-seal made the 845 easily to apply and I'll see how this layering routine...

    Poli-seal, Opti-Seal and OCW performance

Akimel: I think what you say makes sense. I've read the reviews saying that Optiseal "migrates" if applied over carnuba. First, I don't know how I would verify this even if it does. Intuitively, it makes sense to apply sealer first and layer carnuba after the fact. Sacrifice the carnuba to...

    Poli-seal, Opti-Seal and OCW performance

That's been my experience as well. I've been a Meg's guy for the last couple of years and have been pleased with the results overall. As an "enthusiast" and I was running out of product and I added the orbital to my routine, I tried the Optimum line and I've been completely pleased with...

    Best Winter Sealant Durability?

I'm absolutely impressed with the Optimum line including the Opti-Seal. Very easy to apply as a wipe on and walk away. Very forgiving on non-metallic parts (trim, etc). Throw 845 on after and maintain with Optimum QD an OSW and I think you'll be pleased. Good luck!

    Winter/salt protection

I tried 845 yesterday for the first time and thought it was great. Picked up some tips here and other forums. Heated it with warm water and shook it like crazy. Also used the orbital to apply with a finish pad. Removal with a MF bonnet. Went on and came off easy...no white marks on trim...

    Optimum Hyper Polish

Agree, but I'm intriqued by the concept. I like the OPT products I've tried thus far. Going to do a side by side next week.

When I first saw this thread I thought "you boyz and girlz have got too much time on ur hands...after seeing the picture I'm thinking...er, ah, that looks pretty good! Favorite all in one/APC?

Charles: Just started detailing my own cars this year and got hooked. I'm pretty much devoted to Meg's products since they have seemed to fill all my reguirements related to a new car with little to no swirls. However, I am amazed by the number of products I have acquired in a short period of...
