I am so glad I came across this thread. I have exactly the same kind of pin-sized pitting defect on my Nova front windshield. After digging through the Autogeek storefront I decided to buy Ceriglass, some Griots 3" glass polishing pads, 5" lake country glass polishing pads, and Griot's glass...
I am just about "done" with the transformational efforts to restore the exterior of my car. So far I have spent a fair amount of time bringing the paint back to life with compound, polish and wax, and freshening up the front of the car by painting the grill and filler panel. I decided to finally...
Thank you both for the kind words. It's the least I can do to share photos and video after benefiting from all the great information and professionals on this forum! There is also great satisfaction from sharing the results with folks that appreciate it. A lot of people seeing the car would have...
Part ??: Pinaccle Jewling Wax AIO
It's been about 9 months since I compounded & waxed the car last summer. Since then I've driven the car a lot and really enjoyed the fruits of my labor, but the glossy shine of the wax diminished and I could tell it was time to give it attention again. The wax...
Thank you! Much appreciated. It is taking some time for me to get used to the look, but I think I like it. It's certainly a lot cleaner than it was before!
Thank you!
I decided to take on a side project and refresh my grill area before doing any more work on the paint. Looking at the photos of my car above you may have noticed the filler panel between the grill and bumper has some areas body color and some areas gray. That's because the body-color...
Thanks Gav. It's really still an unfinished project because the whole car still needs to be polished. But the car is looking and photographing like I had never seen before. It came a long way! I can see why detailers find satisfaction in their work!
I'll be getting back to this again soon. The...
To add to the library of incredible paint restorations benefiting from this method, I'll submit my shot at this. Here are some before and afters of my 1970 Nova with single stage paint.
I documented the process in the following thread:

Sorry for the very late reply. I think I did the right thing using the clay before applying the #7. There was a lot of contamination on the paint and I think it would have interfered with the #7 penetrating the paint. The car felt and looked a lot cleaner after doing the clay.
Every time I read one of your threads I learn something new.
My friend had a very similar dark blue '66 Fastback that he lost in the Santa Rosa fires. That is a beautiful example and I'm sorry to hear it was hit.
Hopefully they can bring it back to new again.
:)
I was following the writeup below. There is some discussion on the type of towel to use. I think it's less important what towel you use for the no 7 rub off if you are following up with polish. You are no longer relying on the no 7 rub off towel for "polishing".
The Secret to Removing Oxidation...
Great work! I've found a squeegee works really well to get pet hair out of fabric. I have no idea why but it somehow pulls and collects the hair. You just pull it across the surface a few times and you'll see the hair collect in a line.
I am new to detailing and had my first foray into restoring single stage paint recently with my '70 Nova. Mike's articles were very helpful along with watching a bunch of YouTube videos, but I also had to experiment some to figure out what my car needed.
After the overnight soak and rub off of...
