How to clean a wool pad?

Thanks guys. I only used warm water this last time and couldn't get all the polish out of the wool. I'll try it again with Dawn. TLMitchell, So you just use laundry detergent with a normal warm wash cycle? I'd like to try this if I can talk my wife into using the laundry machine for this...

How to clean a wool pad?

I read up on how to clean foam pads, but I just got a PFW and not sure if it 's safe to clean with dawn. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Which 5.5" pad to remove buffer swirls?

Their description recommends the black pad, but I've thought I read somewhere that the red pad was the best for final polishing. This is for use with a rotary. Thanks!

    Whats a Chicago Rotary??

I also picked one up at Harbor Freight for $35. I had a PC and it was taking way too long to work on my buddies mercedes with horrible swirls. Man..this thing saved us so much time. Much better than a PC for serious correction. I was gonna buy a Makita, but I'll hold off since I don't detail...

How to correct super soft paint?

Thanks for all the input guys. This was a project car for a import tuner magazine so the paintjob was free. Who know what kind of paint they used, but it is waaaaay softer than the honda paint that I have seen. I can easily write my name on the car with my fingernail. Either way, we were...

How to correct super soft paint?

I've had great success using a PC and menzerna polishes on my friends and family's cars. So I felt really confident when my buddy asked me to help him do his car. It's a aftermarket paint job and thats all he knows about it. It had really bad swirls and water spots so I started with a 5.5...

can i clay without lubriant? only water

I clay it before I dry the car after washing. I dump some more soapy water on the car after rinsing and then hit it with the clay. I've never had clay deteriorate but I normally throw the clay away after several washes. One bar usually makes several peices.

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

Thanks for all the responses guys. I think I have the answer to my question....I'm not going to save significant time over using a PC and one step polish. I wish I had taken pics of the Tangerine Honda Element I just did with a orange pad and SIP. I masked of half the hood and hit it with...

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

Ok...I'm sensing some hostility here. I have learned soo much from reading your posts here and maybe I'm coming off the wrong way so I apologize if I am. Let me start over... On the few cars that I have done so far, I've done a one step polish. We were all very happy with the finish...

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

Thanks for the input Asphalt Rocket. I think I may just get a rotary to learn and have fun with it.

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

I don't understand your question. I'm getting fantastic results with a pc. Everyone so far has been totally blown away at the finish with one pass on a pc so we are all happy. I'm just trying to save time. Sounds like a rotary will force me to do another finishing pass with a pc which...

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

All the cars I seem to do have minor to medium swirls. PC worked great with one pass, but very time consuming. I know the Flex DA would save some time, but it's pretty pricey. I figured a rotary and pc would be the best of both worlds, but it seems that it may not save any time for minor...

Can a ameteur do a swirl free polish with a rotary?

Well so far, I've had great results with the pc doing a one step polish. Sounds like a rotary will require a 2-3 step polish which probably won't save me any time unless the car needs a lot of correction. If I'm just looking to save time, perhaps the flex DA would be a better choice.
