Quick update: It's been 99 days since February 23rd. Seems like a long time. However, the "process" is slow and sometimes painful. We are at the "demo" stage...first step of that stage is to take all of the belongings which cannot be salvaged (which was 99% of them) and put them in dumpsters...

Mike, thanks for that...the song lyrics are appropriate for sure...I look forward to participating in the forum in a much more uplifting way in the future....once we get through this "process", things will start looking up...and yes, we have insurance but the numbers are not in yet...until then...

Exact cause has not been determined yet. It did start in the basement however, and it was electrical in nature.

Thanks everyone...you're all correct, it's painful, a hassle, a heartache, and a big fat slap to the face to make you realize that just because life is cruising along just fine for years, one day, it can all change. I appreciate the kind words of support. Really I do.

On February 23rd, we lost our house to a fire. No one was injured thank God but our dog did perish in the fire. Along with all of our belongings, my entire detailing arsenal was also destroyed and I will now be starting to build it again from scratch. For about 15 years I've been detailing cars...

<p>We suffered a fire last month and everyone is ok...my detailing supplies, tools etc all were destroyed in the fire...having to replace everything will take time...but I know Auto Geek will be where I shop...</p>
