    products you can't live without?

Without a doubt, Optimum No-Rinse :props:. I seldom use a traditional car soap anymore, even during the summer.

    Hardest part of detailing?

I agree, especially since I've just finished putting in some work on my vehicle this weekend. I used to think I would someday try to earn some extra money detailing on the side, but this is a very physically demanding job. I've turned down inquiries about my services and only occasionally help...

2006 Honda Civic Exterior + Engine Detail

All of that work in only 7 - 8 hrs.? AMAZING:urtheman: Did you do anything special to prep the engine before cleaning (wrapping electrical connections, etc.)? I have a Honda as well and am hesitant to spray the engine compartment because there are numerous electrical connectors.

    Premixed ONR

Chlorine in tap water turns the ONR solution clear, I think. Try using distilled H2O from the supermarket next time.

    Flow Chart

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread, but is this thread going to be made into a sticky? This chart is a great place for beginners to start, especially since there are often posts about where to begin.

    Method of Application?

1.With the supplies available on Autogeek, it's not really necessary to use Dawn. 2. UPGP requires 12 hours of cure time, so you can actually apply 2 coats per 24 hr. period. 3. I haven't used Ultima Detail Spray Plus, can't help you there. 4. ONR is a great and very economical clay lube...

    Bongo page

A couple of years ago, I bought my PC with the Poorboys kit. I have since invested a lot of money in Menz, but I think Poorboys is good to have on hand because you can work with it in direct sunlight. I believe Menz produces a glossier finish than Poorboys, but if have SSR 2.5 and SSR 1 on hand...

    First Engine Detail

rcg, Could you please post your steps in completing this engine detail? I'm interested because I also have a Honda/Acura and am concerned about keeping water from seeping into the electrical connectors:eek:

    WOW! what a OTC find!

I bought the Beyond Black Tire Pro Spray (24 oz.) at a local Pep Boys store. I was surprised the price was the same as online. They also sell a chrome polish. Can anyone recommend it?

    costing me

Hats off to all of the professional detailers on these sites. Detailing has become a hobby/obsession for me over the last few years. I can't imagine doing this as a profession-it takes me a couple of days to physically recover from a full detail (just the exterior:eek:)!

Detail Arsenal Must-Haves - Please list

ProLine Grout Sponge - Works great with ONR and also as a traditional wash media. I did a full detail in October and have only induced minor swirls using ONR + grout spongeIm the MAN

    Flex--does size matter

I bought the Flex this year and still use the PC with 4" pads in hard to reach areas. The smaller pads really increase the power of the PC. I would theorize using the same setup on the more powerful Flex might increase the chance of striking through the clear coat.
