The 2 shims are to be used with the 6" backing plate that comes with the LC kit. You don't use them with the 4" backing plate.

With the Lake Country backing plate system,it as a washer and 2 shims with the screw. What are the shims used for? Are they supposed to be used with the 4" or 6" backing plate,or both? And where exactly do you put them?
