thanks, a little confused, though. I curently have a 5" backing plate (and 5" counterweight i might add) that came with the meguiars DA polsiher. is that any good for 6.5 pads or is it better to get the 6" backing plates? another thing is...the way I understand it is I'd have to switch...

ok, new here, can someone please educate me with regards to backing plates? what does "hook & loop" mean? what are the different kinds/types? I currently have a meguiars DA (G100 model). do i have to replace the backing plate to use LC pads? thanks guys
