    Best wash mit?

Megs sheepskin is my favourite. I use to for all paint surfaces and use a micro fibre mit for plastic trim, front grill etc.

New paint. Wax residue. Please help

Hi all, I picked up the car after having the front guard replaced and the door resprayed in metallic grey. Despite what I have read, they waxed the guard and door after the respray. I am happy to be guided by them on that decision. The only issue I have is a small amount of wax residue (I...

    OK, I admit it, I detailed a toy 1:55 scale Veyron and a 1:43 scale RAM 1500.

Now that I am completely addicted to detailing I take longer to get ready than my wife!!

I was trying to see swirls using the sun's reflection at various angels and realised when I walked back in the garage that I was blind of about 3 minutes until my eyes readjusted from looking at the sun's reflection. So, admiring my detailing is going to send me blind :props:

Confluence. A beautiful word to say.

    My Fault!

Here's a novel one. New SUV less than two weeks old on kid pickup. Another kids is throwing a plastic water bottle in the air and catching it when it clips a branch, and flings off and hits the c pillar. Bottle full of water puts a nice shallow dent in the metal. Bloody punk then says, it's...

    drying car

Haven't tried sheeting water myself as I spray Eagle One Wax as you dry and then use a MF towel to dry. I have noticed that since applying 845, less water remains on the vertical panels and what is on the horizontal ones sits up as nice little beads. I wouldn't use a leaf blower as if it sucks...

What is this on my car?

Try some WD40 as it's completely safe on the paint.

    HELP - Melbourne Eastern suburbs

Hi, Sadly, some moron decided to hit my car at the car park today damaging the right quarter panel and right driver side door and front right wheel. Last weekend I 845'd it in preparation for Winter :( The car is insured, but I'm keen to explore anyone in the Melbourne area (Ringwood - Box...

    Digital Camera

No matter what point and shoot camera you buy, you will be disappointed with low light photos. Despite the megapixel count, nothing can compensate for a small sensor and small aperture lens. You'll get excellent photos in bright light and outdoor but your indoor and low light photos will be...

    Unrealistic expectations

I am already feeling better. :grouphug: The lovely wife commented this morning, "It's a car, get over it!" I also now understand "put some passion behind the pad". It should be, if your arm doesn't hurt, you're not pushing hard enough.

    Unrealistic expectations

Hi All, Being still new to car care (and doing everything by hand), I am wondering what is too pedantic. I now see every scratch, marr, imperfection in the paint. When I walk through a car park, I try to get the angle with the sun to see the swirls in other cars. Then I look at my paint...

    Help cleaning door trim

Hi all, My car has black trim around the windows of the doors and the driver side one has noticeable finger marks / stains where you grab the door (B pillar). Normal cleaning (wash and wax) fails to remove the marks, and plastic trim cleaner has not done the trick. It is a matte black metal...

    How do YOU clean windows?

Megs glass cleaner and a keno glass cloth. Never seen cleaner glass, in fact it's so clean, I can't see it.

    ScratchX as a Polish

Thanks for the help. My washing routine is to use the 2 bucket method with Megs Ultimate wash n Wax or Mothers Carnauba Wash n Wax using a Microfibre noodle mitt. I dry with a micro fibre towel. Here's the problem - we had water restrictions - tight ones which meant for 2 years, the car was...
