2015 Subaru STI Wing in need of protection

Hi everyone, I recently picked up a 2015 STI wing and trunk assembly and need some guidance on protection. I can bring this to the NASIOC forums, but I think you guys may have the better expertise here. Any guidance on getting the rough areas of my wing in "good" enough shape? Rust on 2015 STI...

Helping sister protect black car for first time

Yes, you are correct that we cannot park the car indoors. But to everyone's point, it may not be worth it to use a sealant at the moment since I can't really control temperature and any other external factors that might occur while the sealant is drying. If I am planning to do a more detailed...

Helping sister protect black car for first time

My concern was the cure time allowing the potential for bird droppings to fall on the car. If that does happen duirng the curing process, how can I fix it to not cause any lasting marks within the coatings/protection?

Helping sister protect black car for first time

Thanks for the advice - links removed. Do you think waterspots will be an issue while applying the Enhancer and protection? When we washed her car this past weekend, we did see some small spots appear while drying.

Helping sister protect black car for first time

Hi Everyone, My sister just picked up a 2016 Jeep Renegade recently (black) and is interested in maintaining her vehicle for a long time. After inspecting the paint this past weekend and from my previous inexperience with an Obsidian Black 2007 Impreza 2.5i, her paint could use some TLC and...

    Late Winter Protection

You are not reading anything wrong. Why not over the bug residue? My initial concern was that waxing over it would just encase it and make it more difficult to remove. Would my theory be correct? M1NTY

    Late Winter Protection

I was able to get a wash in on my car here in the Greater Philadelphia area. Unfortunately, due to light and time, I wasn't able to get a super detailed wash in to remove bug residue and iron deposits. Would I be doing more harm than good if I just go right ahead and apply Collinite 845 wax over...

    Stumped....recommend me a sealant?

+1 for Wolfgang also. It seems from the OP that he was worried about having to apply multiple coats to achieve the desired beading effect for the 9 month period. My sealant, granted I also topped it with a layer of Collinite 845, lasted 10-12 mo. 1 coat of each and still had sufficient beading.

[Beginner] Looking for entry DA polisher to fix paint chip

Would the fitting be incorrect if I use a 5.5" pad on the 6" backing plate? Or should I always shoot to have at least equal to the size of the backing plate when selecting a pad?

[Beginner] Looking for entry DA polisher to fix paint chip

Welp... That was easy. Thank you for the suggestion! It seems this one is the most versatile and won't require me to purchase multiple DA polishers for different applications. I will just add a 3" backing plate and the appropriate pads for easy swap out. [EDIT] Should I consider a dual action...

[Beginner] Looking for entry DA polisher to fix paint chip

Since my birthday is coming up, I would like to invest in an entry DA polisher for applying sealant and wax to my '17 WRX as well as fixing the paint chip that I have been trying to repair. I watched AutoGeek's YouTube video about selecting a DA polisher and saw that there were some that use...
