    Which polisher to invest on?

The flex 14-2 is a very good winner. Have not had any problems with the unit. It does get hot as noted. It can as with all rotary units over achieve.

    Best tools to clean wheels

I have learned a long time ago that "suds" are the best cleaners. After spraying apc then rinsing the wheel, use the top layer of the soap solution and you will have little or no splatter. Sticking the brush in the water and yanking it out will only splatter. The only drawback, is the apc and...

    Duragloss Aqua Wax, I'm impressed

If you liked Aqua wax, give FC&S a try and get a great detailer, cleaner and sealant in one.

FLEX XC 3401 dual action or step up to a rotary?

If you can go with the PE14. IT isn't really much heavier feeling than the 3403. It is quieter and you can put your hand over the end without getting hot and not use a bail. It has much better cooling and can run a low rpm-which is at the low end of the 3403. It will not get hot as the 3403...

    Meguiar's G220v2 - Backing Disc & Pad sizes

Umi000 gave a you a good tip. There are 6.5 meg pads also. The problem is your access to experiment with pads. Megs so far as autogeek goes does not sell 5.5" pads. If you can get the HT or flats it would be better. Good Luck.

    Meguiar's G220v2 - Backing Disc & Pad sizes

I am sure the more experienced users will step in but, Kompressor pads are usually preferred for rotary use. The DA beats all pads harshly regardless of type. The HT are favorites of many they have a advantage also as there are only three types you will need. Megs should be in HK and I have...

Lake Country Hydro-Tech Foam Pads Cupping

As others have said, it is too much heat generated by high speed, excessive pressure, stationary movement, etc. Here are some pics of a LC CP cutaway. You can see the bottom pad showing the compression and solidification of the foam as it fused togther. Pulled apart you can see the top has a...

    Poli-seal vs Duragloss

Thanks for the info. From the #501 description-polish and seals-it was my error in assuming it may have some abrasives. Then if the car has opti-coat, would it be better to "clean-up" with #501 than with opt-seal which has some correction?

    Poli-seal vs Duragloss

In the the AIO category, has anyone tried the Duragloss 105/501 products and also used the optimum poli-seal. All are about $60/gal. I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks for your comments on the finish polish tread. Noticed you were not satisfied with any for soft paint. Have you ever found such a product. As you noted the Sonax does have a protectant that will only get in the way of a "permanent coat". Thanks.

    5 Gallon bucket question

I have a simple and odd question regarding the 5 gallon buckets sold by PBMA. All seem to appear the same. Does anyone have one of these and could post the diameter and height of the bucket. The bucket with the gamma seal and grit guard appears to have ring at the top and a lid to seal the...
