This isn't much of a review but more like a show and tell. Ever since I bought my Foam Cannon I've been trying all the car washes I've had on the shelf. I read most doing this and some doing that but I haven't read yet someone trying out AutoGlym's Shampoo. So, I said let's give it a try!

I added 3oz of AutoGlym's Shampoo then topped off the rest of the bottle with warm water. I surprised me a little. I really didn't think it was going to foam up so nice. I did take a quick video of me doing my Accord. It's my very first time actually videoing and uploading it of me doing pretty much anything so please excuse my novice skills.

I haven't taken a video of me with any other wash but in my opinion it holds up just the same as any other wash I have used to date. I would have to say I left it to sit for about 4 minutes before it started to run off to the point where you can see more car than foam. But, I was happy with it.

One thing I haven't tried yet with my Foam Cannon is any washed with wax in them. I'm wondering if I should give it a try or not. Don't see many people trying it though. Any input?

Looks great, I'll have to give it a shot if this snow ever melts, so maybe sometime in July lol.

No comment on the washes with wax, I usually use Honeydew or Meg's Gold Class.

Nice Vid and foam!

I also see little people here talking about wash'n'wax soaps, I don't know why. I just love them.

Please, keep in mind that love them means 'the quality ones', like Meg's, Chemical Guys, etc.

I use wash'n'wax in the foam cannon basically all maintenance wash I'm doing (coated, sealed or waxed vehicle), and CG wash&wax is also my favorite clay lube (I apply it by foam cannon as well).

Take a look:

In fact, most every topic I have will shown some picture of a wash'n'wax 'infiltrated' at some step ahhaha

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

I can't wait to use my foam cannon for the first time! Hopefully I'll get nice suds like that. I'll be using Honeydew. I bought a gallon so I hope it works!

Greetings,

Foam cannon is one of the best inventions ever. I can't wash a car without it since I've started using one.

Fact is, a pre-foam and rinse before conventional wash most of times keeps me away from even dirtying my wash mitt. That's a good sign for a safe wash.

Also, my coated DD I'm maintaining just foaming and rinsing (with W&W cited above), then drying.

Keep in mind that foam quantity is not the best indicative of the best cleaning power.

NO DOUBT the more foam, the best it'll look, it'll amaze and impress people around.

However, it'll also cut down your soap gallon in few washes!

I've started foaming like a crazy (please, DO this until you enjoy enough!), but then I've started dealing with reduced foam (just by closing register until an optimum point) and I've found that to me, less foam works great and saves a lot of soap. In this case, with the quantity of soap I was using on 1 car when I've started using foam cannon, I can wash ~5-6 cars! - without any compromise on quality.

What I mean is, go for the foam, but always try to tweak it's usage for your needs.

For the first time using, please, use a lot of soap and set the foam to the maximum. You'll feel like a little kid again for some 10 minutes!

Count on me if needed,

Kind Regards.

I was talking with one of the owners of a local shop that sells and services pressure washers and they also sell the MTM Hydro Foam Cannon and he said that the wax in soaps will clog the filter in the Cannon then it won't operate properly. That's what he told me. It's a family business and they have been in business for years.

Thanks for the advice! I will take your advice and foam like crazy and enjoy the crap out of it the first time or two!!! But I like your idea in turning it back some to find the optimal point where its max clean w/o product waste. The no dirty wash mitt is what made me jump at buying it. I found out about them and within 1 hour I was trying to find the low pressure Hydro. Watching videos and it looks like so much fun!!! I can't wait! I can watch foam cannon videos all day long!

Interesting, thanks for the info!

Thank you!

Now that you say that I'm definitely going to try a wash n wax next! I've always like Meg's Ultimate Wash & Wax the way it shined before I started using a pressure washer. So, I'm using it next.

Your going to love it!!

Interesting. I can see that happening with the rainx wash & wax because it had wax beads in it.

But some of the other stuff like Meg's Ultimate Wash & Wax seems to be somewhat the same thickness of say CG Mr. Pink. I think I'm going to try it anyways. Why not.

Can you use normal car wash soap in a foam cannon? Like do you not have to use specifically foam cannon soap like Mr. Pink and Honeydew?

I have a gallon of Meguiars Gold Class Soap and Shampoo sitting around that I use for my 2 bucket wash.

I think that any soap will be okay as long as it doesn't have wax in it.

I used CG Honeydew soap in my MTM Hydro Cannon yesterday and it worked great.

The directions say to rinse the cannon out after use. That will probably reduce the chance of clogging.

I made the same comment to the store owner and he said the wax will still clog it up over time.

He showed me the screen that goes inside the cannon and it looks like a small cork with little holes in it. I could see where a build up of wax would clog it over time.

He already had some people come in his shop because their cannon wasn't working properly and it was due to them using wax in their soap. He changed the filter and it solved the problem.

Sweet!!! Can't wait to use mine! Im the MAN

May I ask what your wearing in our video MrCleanit? :D

I just use a foam gun. Mainly because I don't have anywhere to put a pressure washer. I am starting to feel deprived. lol

As far as foaming, I am not sure how much this would vary since I tried it on a foam gun and not an all so beautiful looking foam cannon. :D

Well Duragloss soap worked nice and so does Optimum. I tried it with some Meguiar's Gold Class and there was very little minimal foam. I really want to try a soap that is designed to foam.

Truck - Duragloss
Rx7 - Optimum
Chrysler - Meguiar's Gold Class

I wonder how Meguiar's Gold Class will do on a Foam Cannon.

Wearing a old Al Bundy Polk high shirt! :props:

DG901 works great in the Foam Cannon as well as Meg's Gold Class!

But, I do agree that the soaps designed to foam are so much more fun to play with :xyxthumbs:
