Interior Windshield Cleaning

I’m not as devoted as most on here, but I use the glass cleaner from the brand whose name starts with a large bird. Passes with flying colors.

I have since used the Zapcloth and now I am convinced.
It is a superb product. Just a little water and it cleans glass without streaks.

I don't see how water alone removes oil without streaking?

I apologize for repeating something but is steel wool safe on inside of windshield, I thought the manufacturer put some UV protection on there?

Invisible glass and #0000 steel wool have yet to fail me on the dreaded inside windshield film

have never had an issue of any kind using #0000 on interior windshields. very important to use #0000 and I don't really use a ton of pressure and grind it into the glass.

I'm struggling to get my inside windshield clean without streaks. Invisible Glass leaves way to many streaks behind.

Any product suggestions?

Yes, Invisible Glass and if it does not work for you, you are doing something wrong. I get crystal clear windows with the following method:

1) First, clean the outside surfaces with Invisible Glass and paper towels to get all the road dirt off. Do twice if needed.
2) Next, clean the outside surfaces with Invisible Glass and clean paper towels and immediately dry sections with a quality microfiber cloth.
3) Next, clean the inside surfaces with Invisible Glass and clean paper towels and immediately dry sections with a quality microfiber cloth.

Done!

I use Invisible Glass pump spray, not the can.

The only problem I see with your method is the paper towels. Yes, you're buffing after with microfibers to prevent streaks but the paper towels have wetting agents in them that are leaving excess residue behind. You're getting it with the microfiber after, but you're needlessly increasing the amount of residue that you're having to pick up, and opening yourself to needing more towels than really necessary.

The paper towels are used to initially wipe all the crud off using Invisible Glass and to apply the Invisible Glass. I hate getting my microfiber towels dirty with the initial cleaning. It wasn't till I started using microfiber towels that I easily got streak-free windows

All I can say is, on a pitch black night with headlights coming at me the other way, I have no streaks on my windshield (or any other window) and I am one hell of a picky bugger.

I don't have time to bust out all those different products. I just use Megs glass cleaner and a bunch of waffle weaves (has to be waffle weaves!) Just spray it liberally and keep wiping until its clean.

The Zap Cloth actually does remove oil without streaking. I also use it on the stove top after pan frying. It cleans without streaking. Amazing!

A spray or two of 50/50 isopropyl/water on a microfiber will clean it up

Rinseless wash solution mixed with distilled water. Absolutely zero streaks when doing it this way assuming you use the appropriate towels. I've retired window cleaners, no use for them anymore never found one that did windows as perfect as this method does.

In what proportions?

I mix up a 3 gallon bucket with one ounce of the rinseless solution, lasts me a few weeks as I never dip a dirty rag back in the solution and have a gamma lid on it. I use it all around the car but on windows it's killer best I've used absolutely zero streaks assuming you aren't using any contaminated towels

I'm curious too, and on a side note is ONR safe for tinted windows?
I use it on my interior tinted windows with great results. Have to assume its as safe or safer than alcohol based cleaners.
