What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Going to be a lot of work getting that marring out of those depressed sections--my fingers are hurting just thinking about it.
We'll see when life allows for that lol. Plus they were all sealed in Exo V.9 when it was polished which based on how easy it cleans is far from gone. They may be there a while lol. The vinyl stripes will need some TLC when that time comes too.

So, everyone else is napping, took the opportunity to go and see about those taillights. One quick pass with Perfect Finish on a microfiber applicator. You weren't kidding about fingers getting tired. One more pass with the same amount of effort will likely yield some great results. Just some light stratches remaining.

Wow, knocked that right out! Looks great now.

So a quick story before I get to the post. Yesterday I had an update for my phone, so I waited for that and thought nothing of it...until I got to my touch-free wash where I use my QR code reader app to access the wash...like normal

Thing is, it didn't wanna work, said something about too many bubbles on the screen, never seen this and don't know what that is or means, so I whip out my debit card and buy the least expensive wash, $9.00

Once at work I tried various things but had to wait till the end of the day, where I'd wash again and it worked, had to try it twice. Thing is, the cashe was cleared and I closed all the open windows but atleast my subscription worked. I went this morning and had to do it twice (yes, 3 washes in 2 days)

Today I Uninstalled the app/re-installed it and tried something different in the settings, so we'll see how it goes, plus installed a 2nd QR code reader that said "updated"

Anywho, after work I got drove home, parked under the shade tree and used my FrankenDetailer to give it a "little extra" and applied a tire dressing i call "leftovers", kinda glossy but guess what...ANOTHER wash coming tomorrow morning to see if the QR code reader app works perfectly like it did BEFORE the update🤌

Anyone know what happened here, I'd greatly appreciate any help, I'm dense and easily frustrated with tech

I've had a grudge against tech since it tried killing John Conner. I feel ya.

🤌 NICE! Can't beat a little finger work! You going to ceramic coat

I was moving the Qashqai back into the garage, still looks clean and tidy, I thought.

Then the sun hit the windscreen at just the right angle. That won't do. PSX_20250514_164636.jpg

I hit it inside and out with Garage Therapy One Glass, used a generic glass cloth outside and Stoners Reach and Clean inside.PSX_20250514_164904.jpg

I had my bottle of Jescar Ceramic Spray sealant nearby, so I did that on the spot. The most potent LSP I have on hand is Ultralock Plus+. No coatings. I need to coat the GLI since it is the new daily. Lots has changed since I last coated a vehicle, UK 2.0 was brand new at that time. Like I said, it's been a minute.

The amount of people i see driving into the low sun, then only to turn their wipers on thinking it's on the outside.

NO! It's a filthy interior windscreen covered in A/C gas from summer,
I swear 🤬 some windscreens I see when out walking blind Freddie.

Polished the exhaust tips on the Shelby and addressed some lightly rusted bolts under the hood. Tons of water goes down the heat extractor on the hood when washing. Hard to avoid. I found three spots where water pools over some M6 fasteners that aren't stainless(yet), so they were rusty. Pulled them one at a time and cleaned em up and reinstalled with a light coat of Kroil.

I keep a microfiber in the glove box just for "dry buffing" the i terror windscreen. It works well enough. I can tell when it's good when resistance of towel on surface improves.

OK, this gives me hope I'm not the only one in-front of the daycare wiping exterior drips or cleaning interior windows.

The TAOS was overdue for a wash AND sap mist removal...today was THE day

I started with a Labocosmetica Purifica Decon pre-wash using my IK Foam Pro 12, went around it twice and emptied the entire 1 gallon of solution, let dwell and rinsed away

Next was the 2BM wash, Feynlab PURE wash was chosen this evening. Now I've gotta say, although this product is VERY good, you use 1 oz per gallon, so I used 4 oz and that's FOUR washes using Meg's Hyper Wash for a 2BM, I'm not a math whiz but that's a wrap

Once done there I finished up using Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner on the TAOS' tires and wheels, Mother's Tire & Wheel brush to clean them

Once rinsed off, I used free flowing water to knock down the beads from TAC System Water Flow Foam and Rinse coating, product is looking good so far

It was a fun with foam day. After getting about 10 inches of rain the past 3 days the Accord was due for a good wash. Used Reset for the pre-wash and then did a light engine bay cleaning since it wasn’t too bad. I decided to use my last little bit of Hydr02 foam to add a little protection to the under the hood paint and foamed my lawn mower while I was at it. I still had quite a bit left in the foam cannon so I did second foaming of my car just for the hell of it and then used DIY RW for the contact wash. Gotta take care of my equipment because I always like to say, my lawn is the greenest and my cars are the cleanest.

Thank you but since the touch-free wash is so close to my work I do it before or after work, usually before since I'm on my way

It's great therapy for sure but a need as well because of that sap mist from those 2 remaining pine trees behind us
