While I had the FJ inside I replaced one of the inner fender trim pieces. I bought the full set (4) a few years ago, but only had to replace 2, but I noticed 1 of the others had gone. Luckily the plastic clips were still good, the original trim piece was shredded and came out in multiple pieces, what was still there of course.PSX_20250721_160532.jpgPSX_20250721_161445.jpg
 
So i finally found a use for this bottle of Meguiars Carnuba wax that ive had maybe ten years. Not that its a bad product.
Took my Grandson to the playground (at the school) near where i live. There are three plastic sliding boards on the playground and i gave them a treatment with the Meguiars and turned them into super slides.
There was a bunch of kids up there for a summer day program. They loved the super slides.
 
More chainsaw detailing today!

Before adding a West Coast Saw Bark Box to my new MS 500i, I thought I may as well give it a little attention before installation. The Bark Box replaces the standard front muffler plate with a 304 stainless steel item. Hand made in the USA and featuring TIG welded construction, these improve gas flow, in turn increasing power and reducing heat retention. Oh, and they make it sound epic. Basically a straight pipe for chainsaws.

Before installing the Bark Box, I went over it with Autosol metal polish on a TRC Rip-n-Rag. From there, a wipe down with IPA and a few layers of Dr. Beasley's Metal Coat, which is a high temperature nano coating for chrome, stainless steel and aluminum. I've been using this on exhaust tips for years, so I thought it would be a home here too.











After the install, I wiped with WD40 to remove fingerprint oils, which would otherwise burn into the finish permanently. You would do the same after installing an exhaust system on your car.

What's better than an angry sounding chainsaw? An even angrier sounding chainsaw!

Hmmm, that actually sounds like more work and fuss than just swapping out the muffler plate like I did. If I wasn't messing about taking instructional photos, it would have taken less than 3 minutes to do.

Definitely much more work and fuss

Many of the Dolmar saws sold in the USA before they finally quit making saws under the Dolmar brand had an actual catalytic convertor and a couple of baffle plates that absolutely had to go for the exact same reasons you mentioned

They got HOT

Both my Dolmars received a professional porting job which included gutting the cat and opening up the baffles and adding ports

The larger saw got a big bore kit as well

I did the muffler mod on my small Stihl saw as well as my Echo trimmer

I went back and found a picture of the catalytic convertor

Yes

That’s been our norm for years, it’s only been the last year and a half we have had three vehicles

I’ll be sad to see the 4Runner go but someone will snap it up and make an overlander out of it

Can't keep 4Runner's on the lot *new*, a used one in great condition will sell right after you list it!

went to the movies with my brother and sister in law we saw the new Jurassic World rebirth 6 out of 10.

Then stopped past straight off the boat, to get some fish & chips
they just changed the cooking oil, i got the luch pack & 4 calamari 🦑 rings
soft like butter cooked 👌 with chicken salt and a can of fanta.

How many cinemas are there in Devonport, because I've been to the one opposite where the Spirit comes in, I was early for the boat, had some time to kill, from memory I saw Johnny English, it was okay.
