I don't know if my karma or zen was off kilter but I couldn't catch a break Friday. First, I plugged my extension cord in and had no juice. I had a cut in the cord with no electrical tape. Thank goodness my customer had a spare. Next, while washing, the water pressure dropped to nothing. I looked over at the hose bib and saw my hoses burst.

I know it's not just me, so let's hear some of your bad detailing days.

After I just finish taking off #105 sealant it started to rain....Sealants needs 12 hours to cure....

Another time a customer car sat in my yard for 2 weeks with the keys lock up in it and in my way before they come got it.

Cat knock over a gallon of DG #952 A/W, I was so pissed at that cat...

One of my guys had his SUV all buffed out and ready for wax when we went home for the evening. I took the pad off the PC to clean it and went home.

The next day he was waxing the roof of his SUV when I noticed all of my finishing pads were still on the shelf. I figured he must have put one of the cutting pads on by mistake.

I said, "Hey John, what kind of pad are you using?" He lifts up the PC: he was waxing the roof with the backing pad!

That's just one of many dumb-ass thing that happen at the detail shop.

I was cleaning out my snowblower and the cat came over and started to drink the 2 cycle gas mix that I had siphoned into a bowl, before I could stop it. Well the cat took off and started to run around the car in the driveway again and again..it was going nuts. I was getting worried that something was affecting its brain, but finally it just stopped and then fell over. I ran over thinking it had died..but luckily not....it had just run out of gas!:D:righton::D

I was doing a full detail on a Grand Am that had the front painted recently and looked much better than the rest of the car. During the wash phase, I bumped (very lightly) against the right mirror and felt it give. I wiggled it to see what the problem was and it came off in my hand. I wasn't expecting it to come off and didn't have a good grip on it so it hit the floor and broke. I called and ordered one immediatly and was gonna put it on before delivering the vehicle. So I finish washing and start polishing. Going from the left fender to the door, I pressed the mirror to close the door (lightly) and OMG the left one came off in my hand!!! I looked carefully and both mirrors had been broken in the accident and glued on with black silicone, grr. Some body guy just cost me $100. I was hard pressed to finish with any dignity and totally felt like it was amatuer detailing 101 at my house. I ordered the second mirror and finished the job. I delivered the car and explained what happened and told the customer I'd be back the following monday with both mirrors to install. She was surprisingly inderstanding and said the car looked great. When I showed up monday, I got her keys and went to work on the install. 10 min later I go in to apologise again and she meets me at the door with a check for both mirrors and $20 for my time to install explaining that after talking to her husband, they think the right was already cracked and wanted to pay for it. I think I did the right thing since the damage happened while in my possesion but when she did the right thing it floored me. Most people would have cussed me out and never used me again, not caring that the body guy was at fault. Just when you think people aren't good anymore, surprise

What a pleasant surprise. Maybe there is hope for the human race.

I had just washed my car and was in the process of drying it off. A bunch of birds flew over me, and I thought, "Great, one of em is gonna crap on my car." Luckily, my car was crap free, but my head was a different story.

Great story, Integrity. :) These kind of people are far and few in between, but it's always nice to run across them. Thanks for the smile, mate.

you finish a three stage buff job on some black paint coated with RMG and Souveran and your mother decides to test the sprinkler system for no reason..
