Dont know where to put this so if this needs to be moved please move it.
Are there any detaling/car wash supplies stores in the Chicagoland area? Besides the walmarts, oreilly, autozone, target, and kmart.

Look for an automotive paint supply store in your area. If needed, stop by a local bodyshop and ask them where they get their products from.

+1 on the auto body shops. There is only one in my town and they carry the entire Meg's and 3m line....pads too. You should score even better in the Chicagoland area.

Body shops get some of their supplies from the same company that I do(there are 3 body shops right by the car wash I run). Looks like I have to open a detail and car wash supply store next.

Have you even considered ordering from AutoGeek? Maybe none of you have noticed, this is their forum.

Some products are expensive. Not saying that Autogeek has high prices. example: 1 gallon of degreaser is 15.99(15.95*5=79.95) . I buy a 5 gallon degreaser for 40 bucks. I need my products in 5 gallon quantities. I will need a 55 gallon drum of car wash soap in about 6 months.
The store is more for a convenience. Like I am low on spray wax and need to buy some just in case I run out untill next week when my supplier comes

Also sometimes we can't wait 10+ days to get things.
If I'm in the middle of working and and knock over a bottle or drop something I'm using, I need a replacement quick!
(don't tell me I'm the only one that has ever done that...)

Don't get me wrong, Autogeek is always my 1st choice when there's time to wait for shipping.
I just wish they would open up a warehouse or a store on the West Coast.
It's nice and sunny out here...lots of cars that need products...:coolgleam:

most of the oreily's stores can order pretty much any 3m or meguiar's product, i believe they can also get some of the lake country pads, also lee auto parts on lee and alganquin in des plaines (if your familiar) has a pretty large selection of meguiars products for special order which they can have within a couple of days. some of the autozone locations carry most of Meguiar's proffesional grade line (carol stream autozone on535 S Schmale Rd)

So I can go to oreillys and have them order Meguiars APC Plus for me :), so i dont have to spend extra money on shipping.

i just had to search for hours to find local detailing supply stores, most ive found are paint/body shop supply stores they usualy have decent products, hard to find a store dedicated to just detailing products. just do alot of googling and you should come across something use the terms " detailing supply anytown, state" "auto body supplies town, state" terms like those should come across something, you can always email meguiars and see where their distributor for that area is located(their website retailer search is horrible worst one ever as it just shows walmart, target, big box auto stores and not the places that will stock professional products even if you search for professional products) automagic has a good distributor search and can find one locally(some of their products are good some are just OK) it really is hard to find a local detail shop, most are in california, another place to look for detailing supplies is local car accessory dealers/installers, can also search product sites for example collinite,303 products, ect ect and use their retailer search, fyi west marine or marine supply stores usualy have collinite,303,amazing roll off, some meguiars products. all us autogeeks should make a thread for local detailing products or a entirely new website with a search and user editable so we can add places. good luck!

OP-- I normally order most of my things here, but in a pinch I kinda know where to get some things around here. O reillys carries the megs line like everyone else said. You can get m105/205 like most people use here. I also purchase Stoners invisible glass, trim shine and high gloss tire shine for wheel wells. I also pick up Stoners Tarminator for tar and bug remover and it works well. I have checked all around and there are some detail shops that will sell a product with their label on it. I've tried a few and they work well. Some also sell pads for the PC

I live near naperville and there is a marine store out here where I purchase my megs hand wax applicators from. They also carry some 303 products. So check with your local marine stores.
