I have a question regarding this Microfiber Correction Kit???? I have read a ton of great things about it and really want to purchase it, but I have also read its only meant for factory oem paint..... I have a 97 4runner that is in good shape but hasn't been polished and waxed for a very long time. I keep it clean so the paint is in good shape but has many swirls and little imperfections that need to come out. My question is this: 4 years ago my 4runner was in an accident and had the entire right side of the vehicle repaired and repainted and blended the paint perfectly with the existing oem paint. I am worried that I shouldn't use this kit on my car since all of it is not factory oem. IF THIS IS TRUE, what do you recommend I use to give me like results as the kit???? I am using a Porter Cable DA polisher to apply. Please contact me ASAP as I am eager to get started. Thanks, new to the forum...

You're fine using it, as long as the painter painted it correctly, there shouldn't be a problem, so go for it.

use the kit, but remeber, pressure is key with the system, I also heard 2 dots of d300 and m105 comes out great too

do you use strictly megs products or can you use others?

Do a test spot, which is usually recommended anyway.

no I don't strictly use Megs products..... I do however have a new bottle of Megs #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 at home. Would that be good to use with another product? Also not sure which pads are appropriate either. Using the PC 7424xp to apply products. Thanks for the tips

Also.....I asked this on the Meguiar's forum and many people are telling me to not use the kit on my vehicle...even a representative from Meguiars said not to. So now I am really confused, I am now leaning towards not using the MF kit even though it sounds great.

This is a black Jeep with 90k using the MF kit. I think for a 2 step system it came out great. From what i understand on the "factory paint" recommendation is due to being unsure of quality of a repaint. I seen a couple of non factory paint jobs that came out good using it. Test spot.

I love all the help..... but putting down almost $80 for the MF kit to try and see if it works is not my style. Ive been reading about the Megs Ultimate Compound now so maybe I should go with that???

I've used the MF kit on a silver metallic 2009 GM vehicle that had 70% of its panels repainted 13 months ago by a very reputable local shop. From my experance I don't think you will have any issues. If your using a PC just make sure you order the 5" kit!
