Hey guys,

Quick question: Seeing as though the WG Swirl Remover 3.0 and Finishing Glaze are so prohibitively expensive here in Australia when in comparison with Menzerna, (WG = $60/16oz bottle - Menzerna = $55/32oz bottle), is this combination going to be good for removing swirls and finishing the paint? PF2500 for removing swirls with a DA polisher and light cutting pad, then SF4500 for removing any remaining imperfections and creating a good shine with a polishing pad?

I have WGDGPS as my LSP, then Pinnacle Signature 2 for pop, and DG Aquawax for in between washes.

Thoughts?

I've done a bunch of reading through the forum of old threads, and it seems the PF2500 is a middle of the road swirl remover, just below WG TSR 3.0, but quite a bit behind the M105? The SF4500 (PO85RD) seems to get praised quite highly.

If I come across a car that the PF2500 won't touch, should I just go to my local shop and buy some Meguiars Ultimate Compound? ULTIMATE COMPOUND | Meguiar's

I just bought 2500, 4000, and 4500 for replacement of the twins. I plan to use the 4500 for the garage queen.

I also keep UC on the shelf for heavier work when needed.

I haven't used the Menz yet but expect equally good results.

When you say, "the twins", I assume you mean M105 and M205?

From the research I've done, 2500 is about a 4 on the cut scale, where M105 is a 10, and M205 is a 2, if that makes sense. UC would be about an 8 on that same scale.

Meg twins and WG twins. Meg twins are M105/M205.

WG twins are total swirl remover and finishing glaze. I think he is talking about the WG twins.

Sorry. I meant WG

Ah, yep. So from my research, on the same scale I mentioned before, the WGTSR 3.0 would be about a 5 on the cut scale, so very close to the PF2500. This is what I was hoping for due to the massive price difference for me.

Thanks for that mate. It's quite a bit to take in when you're new to all this, so to have someone actually say that means quite a bit. Cheers. :dblthumb2:

alot of people will also tell you that menz and wolfgang are the same product (WG made by Menz). there is much debate out there about it.:bat:

Of you need more cut you can go for Menz PG1000 or 2000.

I wouldn't recommend even touching the M105.

If I need more cut I'll go and get some Ultimate Compound. I did a lot of research last night, and it seems like the best go for someone new to detailing like me with its long work time and low dust.

What happens if you need more cut than UC?

Meaning, if it can't be done with Ultimate Compound, then I probably should stay away anyway! Im the MAN

Thanks for that, magna power. PG1000 looks to be pretty good then. I can pick that up from Waxit for a reasonable price too.

I think unless you have some pretty serious swirls (ie deep) then 2500 should be fine. You can always use it with a pad with more cut. 2500 and 4500 don't dust at all for me, 1000 does a bit, but like I said, it's probably more because I'm a noob than because the product is no good :S
