So tomorrow im going to quote a couple of cars. One (Cadillac) has a supposed $15,000 custom interior job with alligator skin.
I've never work with this type of material wondering if anyone has? Types of cleaners or conditioners to use? Can a leather cleaner/conditioner be used?
Cant seem to find anything on internet and would like to go to this quote with a little info instead of going in "blind". Thanks in advance! :xyxthumbs:

Have you tried calling a boot shop or an auto apholstery shop? I think that is where I would start. Or call Lexol and ask them. I myself would use their products.

I have also asked a relitive for info on her FB. they own a leather shop. Maybe Ill get a reply in time.

+1 for Lexol and my next bet was the boot shop. Going to see if I can find a upholstery shop that actually knows about alligator skin. And thats if the interior is actually gator skin. I know you can get leather with the imprint of gator skin.

They make a few products specific to exotic leathers.

This website offers a little insight into alligator cleaning.
Look into products made for exotic leathers. I used leather honey when I rocked my gator boots Im the MAN

Yeah I found that site. I don't see how gator can be any different from leather other than being careful and not using harsh chemicals

I'm not sure about an interior for a car but I know that the boots, wallets, etc are just burnished and not coated and need to be conditioned.
