I know how you feel. The paint on my Jeep is extremely difficult to polish, yet scratches and scuffs extremely easily. Will stay tuned for afters!

To the OP: Meg's APC+ APC works nicely but has a chemical smell that I have to let dissipate when I use.

I would try something that can break down organic compounds (think bug remover). Some things that come to mind are - TarX - Bug Squash - OPC Not a specific recommendation, just some ideas.
