What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finally finished this 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S after about 26-28 hours total detailing the exterior plus a ceramic coating install.

Questions on pro ceramic coating and maintenance

Just in case it matters, I was an Opti-Coat authorized installer at one point. With that said... I can’t speak for everyone, but the bird droppings I period left didn’t affect the coating. I purposely did stuff like this to test out the coating. Yes! You can use Hyper-Seal in place of...

Questions on pro ceramic coating and maintenance

    1. Opti-Coat Pro should yield better results compared to what you have been used to. It all varies case by case, but if you left it there after a week it should not be a big deal. I had Opti-Coat Pro installed on my 2008 Subaru Forester last year and it survived such things when I “got lazy”...

What does it cost to install a ceramic paint coating? Example #1

When it comes to pricing a ceramic coating, the cost of it is always in addition to a single stage paint correction or a multi-stage paint correction. No longer do I include a minimum of a one-step. A lot of credit is given to the product itself nowadays, but shine is nothing without proper...

How to Make Money on SUV's

I can’t believe I fell victim to an old thread. Oops. Fortunately, anyone looking into this well into the future will hopefully find it beneficial to their (current & future) business.

How to Make Money on SUV's

One pattern that I come across the most, when it comes to pricing is that most people fall into the category of “not the most expensive in the area.” What is wrong with pricing correctly and as a result...actually happen to be the most expensive in your area? SUVs are no joke. You should take...

    Detailing Pricing

Hello, This is Dan with The Buffing Moose Detailing based out of Portsmouth, NH. I used to come out to the Gloucester area all the time to visit friends out there. I am very familiar with the place. To be quite frank with you... Assuming your quality is at a very high level and you would...

Cutting Differences between Sonax SONAX EX 04-06 and Rupes Quarz Gloss for use 2017 Honda Civic

In terms of the best one-step approach, I personally would go with Sonax Perfect Finish with RUPES yellow pad. Of course, a multi-step process will yield the best results. Going from Keramik to Diamond is marginally noticeable in difference.

Nothing wrong with that in itself. Go for it. I’m sure we all would love to see your progress.

    New shop owner

Thank you for the compliment. It’s nice that more and more detailers are popping up here on AGO from Maine. I am trying to note these ones because occasionally I will get a call from afar. And people willingly will travel for good work. But I am a mobile service and am not willing to travel to...

Sonax PNS, GYEON Cancoat or Optimum Opti-Seal

All these products, when applied properly, will yield up to 6 months if I am not mistaken. I haven’t used CanCoat yet, but the other ones will work as advertised. I think that the few times I used PNS, the results were amazing. If you are looking for once a year, probably better to look into...

If you could only use two or three product lines for all your detailing needs, what would you choose?

I exclusively use the RUPES system. Slowly I have been diving into and loving P&S products. They work and are priced reasonably.

Use old business name or start new one?

This is an easy one for me as I would go with a new name personally. Having the opportunity for a fresh start is nice when you know you can.

2019 Audi A4 Cabriolet Presented by The Buffing Moose Detailing

Overview My client for this detail is this sweet lady who is retired, but she absolutely still loves her car looking nice. She came to me because she was recommended from the dealership to have it well protected. However, I don’t understand why they couldn’t do it at the dealership level. FYI...

    Steamers...

I’d just buy a quality one and get it over with. I went through 5 rounds of replacing/repairing my Mcculloch steamer. With all the money put towards that, I could have already purchased a more expensive steamer. Of course I don’t have $899+ lying around sometimes when I need other things for...
